Despite its downsides and detriments, social media is an important part of socialization for today's youth. The only way to get your kid off social media without developmentally stunting them, would be if EVERYONE got off social media. Which we ALL know is never going to happen.
You missed my entire point. Denying your child social media, for all its negatives, would do more harm than good as it would stunt their social development.

Inform them instead, and try to monitor what they do/watch/post on the app instead, and try to inform them why they shouldnt use it.
