Our per capita infection rate and death rate are currently lower than most of Europe. Of course, it's hard to know how meaningful those numbers are without knowing exactly how much testing has been done in each country. This is a global pandemic, and I don't think the US is anymore vulnerable than any other country, so I think your worry should be for all the world (except China... fuck China). Also, don't worry too much. Humanity has been through much worse, and we'll eventually move past this.
