It's not bizarre at all. It's perfectly understandable. A cure/treatment means the pandemic is over, Americans can go back to work, and the economy starts improving again, which means the DNC and MSM can no longer run 24/7 "we're all dying because Orange Man" programming. It was also something Trump was touting and fast-tracking which--since anything Trump is for, they must be against--they dismissed and downplayed instantly, so if it turns out that it actually works then the American people will see that they were roadblocking a treatment that could've saved lives while at the same time blasting Trump 24/7 for people dying due to not having enough "lifesaving ventilators".
Their TDS committed them early on to a path where, if these drugs actually do turn out to cure people, the Democrats and MSM will be left with massive egg on their face. The best case scenario for them is that Americans continue dying, and in increasing numbers, with no end in sight. Anything else helps Trump and hurts them.
They are enemies of the people. They want you dead.
