The businesses I work for have been shut down. Many won’t return. I can’t get paid for the work I’ve done. It’s not about having enough for a hiatus, but the loss of service contracts and how long it will take to rebuild.
Personally, I’m in fine shape. 20 years of self employment has served me well, but the costs of business don’t go down. I can’t carry insurance, licenses, salaries, taxes, gas bills, and all the other overhead costs that are associated with running a business if my income drops by 75%.
It’s a punch in the gut to have the democratic governor shut me down while allowing other service providers like dry cleaners to stay open. They are picking and choosing the winners and losers.
If you have any foresight and intellect it’s time to take to heart what an experienced person is telling you. The government has shut me and my clients down and there is no amount of money that will bring back my business quickly.
