Seriously, maybe in NYC where nearly half of all cases are. They are an absolute special case with the unique living/commuting situation in that city. Most of america is single family homes where that kind of spread just won't happen.

Personally think this is still overblown, 400,000 cases with 6,000,000,000 people in the world and this has been going on for months now

using your numbers, that's only 0.0001% of the population.

by way of comparison, 0.0001% of a mile = 6.336 inches.
