The modern Dems are a cult, but many of the old timer Dems who still cling to the days of Kennedy have begun to realize it's no longer their party.
I think a lot of people were pushed to the Democrats by being repulsed on what some Republicans did. They used to be very authoritarian despite being for limited government, and also turned off by the religious right were a lot stronger then. Republicans also used to be the party of war, but it’s like the roles were reversed when Don came around.

Only reason I'm still closeted is because of a family member whose health isn't so hot who lives in a D stronghold (as did I). If I came out it'd at the very least be a significant shock to their system, and not in a good way.
Other than that, I no longer care what my old friends would think of me, and I suspect a number of them are behind the scenes questioning things themselves. I'd have already shown my colors and given them that extra boost if it weren't for that one family member I have to think of.
One of my absolute best friends made some statements last week regarding what she has seen regarding the media and Dems and their political bs over the coronavirus. I never thought I she would actually state positive things about Trump. It is real, there are those that are truly seeing things they have not for the first time.
I think the daily Wuhan virus press conferences are helping to open eyes. So many people are off work or working from home. They can see for themselves what Trump and his task force say without the fake media filter.
And also what the media says. They are being exposed as the evil, fake and corrupt people most on this board already knew about.
That plus Google's having seemingly relaxed their censorship of non-progressive topics. Lots of people at home, Googling lots of stuff, getting actual search results...
They also don't have HR, their boss or professors to worry about at home punishing them for wrongthink.

The left likes to always talk about being on the wrongside of history, but that won't be us.
