I just had it out with my neighbor who works for the state government, and gets full pay benefits during crisis.
In NH we have 1 death so far (an elderly man who had pre-existing illness).
He doesn’t realize lots of small mom and pops won’t come back if they remain closed much longer. And those that do certainly won’t bring back their full pre-shutdown workforce.
And for what, I asked him. Was it worth killing the NH economy for 10 days (so far) over a virus that has killed a single NH resident - and a sick one at that?
I don’t think this destruction of the economy and way of (live free or die) life will sit well with many when the fog clears.
