That's pretty low IQ to assume he didnt learn that from one of the health professionals he met with every say lately.

It's called Republican. To understand listen to the retarded Joe Biden, his speach pattern is learned behavior from reading Democrat scrambled word propaganda.

no, the grammar nazis all died of heart attacks and strokes from seeing all our shitty typing.

Okay then. Big burden off of my shoulders. I keep correcting myself out of fear for being corrected by others.

6
Shhhhhut_the_hell_up 6 points ago +6 / -0

You will be corrected sometimes, but who cares? If the only things you're getting corrected on is grammar and spelling, you're doing okay.

~8 years ago or so people constantly corrected spelling and grammar mistakes on Reddit. I'd attribute the fact that people don't really do it anymore at least in part to the number of bots, shills, and people that don't speak English as their first language flooding onto message boards.

11
Brucesky420 11 points ago +11 / -0

Literally everything he says is coming from health professionals which is why it's hilarious to see the MSM put "Trump, who is not a doctor" in their headlines. He's being briefed by the best and brightest and the MSM is too stupid to keep up

4
OGpsywar 4 points ago +4 / -0

Yeah, he's literally a genius, and has chief executive access to the entire KB of Earth's technological hyperpower..

Him being right should just be a given.

But perhaps the issue to note isn't Trump's impressive record of being correct, .. but the Dem's Absolutely Flawless record of being in the wrong.

Flouting all force of odds.

Incredible. 👏👏👏

A lot of hospitals moved to all disposable products because of prions (mad cow disease). Prions cannot be killed with high heat. That said, this is not a prion epidemic.

cuckslasher 7 points ago +7 / -0

"trump migh be causing the next prion epidemic which could kill millions people of color"

LOL. :)

6
RedinaBluestate 6 points ago +6 / -0

Holy shit...I didn't believe you so I looked it up.

It takes temps of 900F for "several hours" to unfold (destroy) a Prion.

W T F ? ! ? ! ?

1
memechallenger33 1 point ago +1 / -0

I know. Scary, scary shit.

1
commies0ride0free 1 point ago +1 / -0

woo I’m surprised you can destroy them at all!

3
commies0ride0free 3 points ago +3 / -0
  1. How common are prion epidemics, really? And

  2. Can you “catch” a prion disease from things you’d be wearing at the hospital? Genuine question - I mean there’s proteins and RNA and DNA and shit on EVERYTHING. It’s not like you breathe in a prion and get mad cow lung disease.

1
memechallenger33 1 point ago +1 / -0

Prions are evil bastards. I think if they were aerosolized and got in through a mucus membrane they could kill you. It might take longer than if you ate a giant steak full of them.

Also, apparently a lot of deer populations in North America are developing prion diseases. I haven't wanted to look it up because it sounds too depressing.

2
commies0ride0free 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ah yeah, CWD... it is depressing.

But isnt the biggest issue with prions aggregation? Your body is able to handle a level of misfolded proteins- it makes misfolded proteins sometimes and is able to metabolize them. My understanding is that when there’s SO many of them that the body can’t keep up they aggregate and cause issues- not something you can catch from aerosolized prions, or rather aerosolized prions wouldn’t kill you.... but I’d definitely be interested in any reading you have to educate myself on that, where can I find that?

1
memechallenger33 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think the prion diseases happen because the prion themselves act as catalysts to make the new proteins misfold in the same way, so their is a snowball effect. And yes, most misfiled proteins are broken down. But the disease causing ones can't be broken down by the body.

2
droden 2 points ago +2 / -0

prions are bigger ass holes than viruses. possible worse than hillary clinton

1
memechallenger33 1 point ago +1 / -0

Yes. It's hard to find stuff that worse than HRC, but you are right, Prions take the prize every time.

Have you ever wondered if the weird crab-shrimp animals and funky plants that live at the bottom of the ocean vents have all of their proteins as prions? How else could they survive at that pressure and temperature?

34
bigdeer67 34 points ago +34 / -0

I don't see why it wouldn't work. You can sanitize a dish towel, sponge, etc by nuking it for 1min

snuggs316 15 points ago +15 / -0

gas autoclave, y'all.

14
not_a_shill 14 points ago +14 / -0

158 degrees wont really break down paper or cotton for several uses. Cotton doesnt burn until 400F degrees, and paper 451F.

A gas dryer on high is 155F for comparison.

Living things dont do well in temperatures really above 110 for prolonged periods of time.

You bake them in an oven, not a microwave.

Can't get arcing at 158 in an oven, I don't think.

Anyslogan2 7 points ago +7 / -0

Chemiclave my friends. Dental offices sterilize metal hand pieces and instruments.using a combination of heat and chemicals. An autoclave has to use much higher temperatures because it only uses heat.

3
EvanGRogers 3 points ago +4 / -1

Like, hitting it with A-Bombs repeatedly for a minute?

Yeah, that'd sanitize the shit out of a towel.

3
AlohaSnackbar 3 points ago +4 / -1

Well, not in this case, but good luck sterilizing something with a prion disease.

3
residue69 3 points ago +3 / -0

I was terrified when I first learned about prions.

Can you bake all masks or specific ones ? Any info about ffp3? I’m not sure if the filter system will survive the oven

Specific ones, tRump said there were types that could, not all of them. Libs gonna tard

AIDS1255 8 points ago +8 / -0

Please note for any folks that want to reuse their own masks, this won't work for every type of mask. Heat can affect the porosity of the mask and open up pores larger than the size of the virus. N95s are safe, but if you have something different look it up first!

Don't nail salons use UV sterilizers for their equipment?

6
tonightm97 6 points ago +6 / -0

Well, it is basic science as if you work in the food industry you just don't bring food up to the right temp to kill germs. You have to keep it there to kill more of them.

I mean the virus is "of nature" as they say and will be killed at certain temps.

4
BoughtByBloomberg 4 points ago +4 / -0

Obviously you can! It's insane that people claim you can't use autoclaves to sterilize masks! Heck most hospitals have RADIOACTIVE autoclaves that could penetrate the filter no problem. They use it on so many stuff already.

4
altaG12 4 points ago +4 / -0

source?

4
mercynurse 4 points ago +4 / -0

They never heard of an autoclave

7
Barbieblonde 7 points ago +7 / -0

Well give them a break, their medical experts aren't even licensed to practice in the United States. Looking right at you... Nevada.

6
OneOfMany_MAGA 6 points ago +6 / -0

The steam typically used in an autoclave affects the fibers in the mask which can degrade over several cycles.

The mild baking advocated here doesn’t have that issue.

4
TheOutsider 4 points ago +4 / -0

Can anybody give some links about people freaking out about this statement? Sometimes I need a good laugh, and most comedians are weirdos so I look at this for laughs.

4
RenataH 4 points ago +4 / -0

170 F is correct temperature.

3
RedinaBluestate 3 points ago +3 / -0

Another form of "pasteurization" that is used with bottled food products is called "ultra high pressure" or "HPP" which is, exactly that.

You put the goodies into a chamber and squeeze anything alive to death.

It's about 87,000 PSI.

2
mae_daisy 2 points ago +2 / -0

2
Horkers4Trump 2 points ago +2 / -0

You have to soak it in aquarium cleaner first.

1
pyro 1 point ago +1 / -0

It is called an autoclave and many hospitals have them for instruments. Some fabric can be autoclaved and some will not tolerate the heat. Disposables like masks are not intended to be autoclaved but that doesn't mean you cannot do it a certain number of times.

1
Magamack 1 point ago +1 / -0

The mask shortage is still a pretty huge issue. Its a shame that we have to resort to this.
