He doesn't seem like he's in a place to take up that responsibility.

For selecting a convention nominee, but there are still statewide rules about actually getting on each states ballot that late?

I can't imagine the situation has ever come up and they actually picked someone who wasn't already registered as a possible pick.

But I know for sure that there are requirements for each state when trying to get on the ballot by November.

I don't even think that's possible considering you have to be registered ahead of time to even be on a ballot. You can't just grandfather that in. It doesn't work like that on a federal level...

Unless he were to somehow pop up as a VP nominee, now that could be possible... But no way in hell could he be picked as the actual nominee, unless they want to pick a nominee that won't be legally on the ballot in most states.

And he's already made it crystal clear he's going to pick a woman, and not just any woman, he's making sure to narrow his picks down to three real morons.

If no candidate gets majority of delegates (or maybe it's plurality?) on 2nd ballot, they move to brokered convention where no such registration requirements exist
