May I ask what sector you’re in?

52
BuddyTheWonderDog [S] 52 points ago +54 / -2

Healthcare sales, believe it or not. Since facilities are on lockdown my bosses were baffled as to why my pipeline suddenly stalled. The two people that handle business development and client service were deemed 'non essential' and we are out of a job effective Monday. Small business and our field operations are in the trenches but still...I was hoping they would hang in there a couple more weeks until things settle down a bit.

34
Proud_American 34 points ago +36 / -2

Our small businesses are shells. Hallow to the core.

They’re cracking us one by one as they pick the winners and losers. Literally.

I work in DME and we are seeing shortages trickle down to everything. We have been absolutely booming and hitting record sales the past 2 months but I am worried that the supply chain is going to hault and soon we won't be able to source any products.

People on r/politics can't fathom this situation and just want everyone to stay at home and magically order from amazon anything they want. They really are helpless fucks

Bmorepirate 12 points ago +12 / -0

Biggest problem with everyone who thinks "lives matter more than the economy"

Wake up, fucktards, lives run on the economy.

7
patriotic-noodle 7 points ago +7 / -0

I'm so sick of hearing people wish the economy would be shut down. People are more ignorant than I ever thought. They literally think they will be paid for sitting at home indefinitely in their PJs and just watching Netflix.

3
accountable 3 points ago +3 / -0

Hard to know what a lot of people "think". By their actions it seems to be "not much & not often".

13
BuddyTheWonderDog [S] 13 points ago +14 / -1

I'm starting to think that too.

6
AslanFan 6 points ago +6 / -0

Amen...EXACTLY what I was thinking.

2
Proud_American 2 points ago +3 / -1

The company was sales related. Not production. What sales are the developers going to develop if there’s no product?

Might as well ask them to shove a square peg in a round hole.

Possibly. I'm awaiting the separation papers, which were promised me by EOB today. This left a bad taste in my mouth though...

I have a good emergency fund, pantry and fridge are stocked (from normal purchases, not panic buying or hoarding!), pets are current on vaccinations and in good health, vehicles are paid off. I'll take this time to find something better, volunteer, hike with the dogs, catch up on reading...

12
redd_i_ter 12 points ago +12 / -0

Emergency fund? Dave Ramsey? That and the paid off vehicles. Just curious.

Also, sorry for your job loss, but blessing in disguise and all that...

It really do. Only have a mortgage and working on that.

2
redd_i_ter 2 points ago +2 / -0

Same here.

4
DropGat 4 points ago +4 / -0

Absolutely start looking at other work options immediately, you have all the proof you need of how they viewed you/their workers.Even here on the Donald, there was the guy a while back who owned a Cattle Ranch & employed a couple of Pede's who posted they were sacked from their construction jobs because of the shutdowns.

He gave them work till Xmas & full board & keep thrown in as he had decided to use the business tax breaks & incentives to under go major industrial building works & expansion on their properties & to maximize the use of people who had been laid off so it benefited everyone .

One of the construction guys was the BIL of a Pede who told him of the opportunity & his sister had just had a baby at Xmas ,they were shattered when he was laid off from the job he had for 5 years & then he was able to take up the job offer within 10 days of being laid off,it was a huge relief for them .

Yo. My boyfriend works as a programmer at a health insurance sales company. They might be looking for remote workers, if you want I can ask him to put in a recommendation.

Elective surgeries are a big cash cow for the healthcare sector, so I totally believe it.

A lot of companies are hiring. Amazon, all major grocery chains, HD, Target, etc. It might be less than your usual salary, but it would probably pay basic bills. Amazon is hiring a lot of IT people.

5
texascpa 5 points ago +7 / -2

As much as I hate the heat, the job market and cost of living in Houston area is just too good to leave.

4
UpTrump 4 points ago +4 / -0

I'm thinking of Houston, Mr. Texas CPA! I have my reservations though, because I've heard it's sort of a shitty place. How do you feel about it?

4
HungNavySeal300Kills 4 points ago +4 / -0

It's a massive city the size of US states. You can find anything there.

You can drive 85mph through the city and half the people are strapped. Also the car lifestyle tones it all down.

I can only hope we have a pede or two behind enemy lines documenting all the insanity they are planning for November. Did Bernie ever fire those gulag guys from his campaign?

5

probably promoted him to his super elite steering committee.

9
FuckReddit4545 9 points ago +9 / -0

Luckily this probably won't hurt his chances at re-hire or a new job completely. Everyone knows times are tough right now and being laid off shouldn't be a big deal to those hiring once this is all over.

14
BoughtByBloomberg 14 points ago +14 / -0

Sure, also look into if your employer takes out a loan or not. I think there was a stipulation that the loans can't be given out if they fired anyone past 13th of March.

9
JustHereForTheSalmon 9 points ago +11 / -2

Thanks to the Demonrats, all of it is still in limbo.

5
BoughtByBloomberg 5 points ago +5 / -0

It'll get through and will still apply retroactively to March 13th. I mean if you LIKE your employers and it's not a dick thing like those scumbags who are cutting cables and evicting people then maybe just volunteer for a bit and move on.

10
HTTP_404 10 points ago +11 / -1

Best to you in the future. Helping Trump win might ensure a good outcome!

5
BuddyTheWonderDog [S] 5 points ago +5 / -0

Thanks. Like others have said - I would crawl through a vat of coronavirus to vote for Trump in November. I should put some energy into helping him get re-elected!

9
IncredibleMrE1 9 points ago +9 / -0

Sorry to hear that, pede. Best of luck in the job hunt... Good use of your newfound free time!

8
PeePeePooPooTrain 8 points ago +9 / -1

This would be extremely selfless and moving if you did so. Plus i hear the liberal tears' futures market keeps going up and you can harvest those onsite if you go door to door

8
remember1776 8 points ago +8 / -0

Damn I'm very sorry to hear that. The stimulus bill got passed, help is on the way

8
ciaramella_is_gay 8 points ago +8 / -0

Sorry to hear, I hope we get this economy turned back on soon and you can be back in a job, even if it's not the same one as before.

I think volunteering for DJT would be fantastic and to be honest, a great networking opportunity. Meeting like minded Americans who value hard work will always lead to something good, I'm hoping things turn around for you quickly.

Take care and be safe.

4
BuddyTheWonderDog [S] 4 points ago +4 / -0

Thank you! I actually helped register new voters in the summer of 2016 while volunteering at the county Republican office. We gave out yard signs and stickers - it was great fun. Trump did 2 fantastic rallies in our city in Ohio. I've moved since then and need to investigate how to get involved in our new city. You are absolutely correct, though - could be a great networking opportunity

Every msjor big box company is hiring. Amazon is hiring IT people. 100,000 of them.

2
de9ebkmd7 2 points ago +2 / -0

How would this stop you from claiming unemployment? Things will get better. Maybe time to leave NYC.

2
MustangManny 2 points ago +2 / -0

After that, if things get worse maybe hire some henchmen, and do some freelancing.

5
MuricMAN 5 points ago +5 / -0

Pede-

You wouldn’t happen to be near:

  • Spokane, Wa
  • Hurricane, UT
  • Lowell, MI -Danville, VA

I work for a food manufacturer and not only are we operating we are hiring! 100% employee owned and 100% USA based. We offer good health coverage, a living wage, and a great retirement!

3
BuddyTheWonderDog [S] 3 points ago +3 / -0

Unfortunately, no - I'm in the midwest. I greatly appreciate the kind thoughts. Hopefully a worthy patriot will see this and reach out to you!

2
MuricMAN 2 points ago +2 / -0

No sweat. I made a post about us hiring and I’m will to personally speak with any pede who needs a job and can vouch for then to HR. It didn’t get traction sadly, but I think it would be cool to have a section or flair on this site to delineate if we can help people with employment etc during this time

2
DropGat 2 points ago +2 / -0

Absolutey agree l posted earlier on a couple of Pedes getting work off here after posting about being laid of a while ago .Here is part of the post -

Not a criticism or a pat myself on the back in any way, but this is why I went into private practice. No one can lay me off except God and my own self. Look into starting your own bizz, pede.

4
Choppermagic 4 points ago +4 / -0

Sorry to hear. When this thing passes, people are going to bounce back big i think and appreciate being able to buy things, work, and go out and socialize.

4
MAGAnic316 4 points ago +4 / -0

God bless you and yours friend 🇺🇸

4
cccpneveragain 4 points ago +4 / -0

That's a great idea really. Anything to keep you busy will help keep your head clear. It's not like you can job hunt all day long.

Another thought, if you're interacting with other MAGA people and doing good work, they may have connections or contacts to get you back to work. It's obviously not guaranteed but you're essentially advertising your skills and work ethic to others with the same mindset.

3
AenAllAin 3 points ago +3 / -0

For all those laid off, on-hold, under suspension! Never forget to thank Obama, Pelosi, the Democrats, and the Progressive/Socialist/Globalists every day!

  • Thank you for Open Borders!

  • Thank you for Chinese Economic Dependency!

  • Thank you for fighting against the Border Wall, Travel Bans, and better Trade Agreements!

And most of all...

  • Thank you for (trying to) turn(ing) Trump's Economy back into Obama's Economy!
3
FLIBS 3 points ago +3 / -0

Sorry to hear, good luck out there. You should volunteer; helps the cause and a good way to network.

3
Jcholl9 3 points ago +3 / -0

Sounds good Pede and maybe you can volunteer and later as a Poll Watcher?

Volunteer whether they want you or not...

3
VaPnut 3 points ago +3 / -0

If your employer is laying people off they will not qualify for the zero interest loans they will not have to pay back if they don't lay employees off. Keep a eye on them

3
faxinator 3 points ago +3 / -0

NICE, DUDE! You just got laid! Awesome, man... I was ...

Oh shit. You said "laid off".

Sorry.

3

Sorry to hear that. I think I'm about to get laid off this week or next week.

3
Vests123 3 points ago +3 / -0

Really sorry to hear this.

Volunteering would be a great thing to do while looking for a new job.

Good luck to you...hopefully it won't be too long and the economy starts moving along once this all passes.

3
magabirdlady 3 points ago +3 / -0

Couldnt hurt. and then when you apply somewhere else technically you have no gap.

3
FuckReddit4545 3 points ago +3 / -0

Sorry to hear that pede, you'll find something soon! I'm fortunate enough to be deemed essential so I've actually picked up hours during this whole thing. Sad seeing empty streets while everyone hides away during this media induced panic.
