What in the fuck is happening

With how it’s being explained that people can’t stock pile it makes sense, but I don’t know anymore. Who knows.

Yeah. Can't crash the world economy if a cheap cure is found immediately.

VP Pence then announced that the FDA has now authorized off-label prescriptions of the medication for China virus treatment. Your move, leftist trash.

tr808 5 points ago +5 / -0

Does that mean the Nevada dem governor got btfo'd?

7
SamQuentin1 7 points ago +7 / -0

I think it means that NY can move forward for those who test positive because the FDA approved that usage, but the people of Nevada and Michigan are still screwed.

1600NWMagaAveWASHDC 4 points ago +4 / -0

Im pretty sure the FDA approved HCQ for coronavirus treatment. So his executive order doesnt mean anything

2
Bramble 2 points ago +2 / -0

I think it means pharmacists can't give it out but licensed doctors can.

good thing 80% of the tests blow false positive red/positive then.

They want he system to fail.

goldentomatoes1 [S] 29 points ago +30 / -1

First, the Nevada Dem Governor blocked its use and now the NY Dem Governor followed suit. They want people to die. Somehow, it will be sold on the black market and probably be made in China. Ugh.

Littleirishmaid 14 points ago +14 / -0

I’m now wondering if this is to stop doctors from ordering for themselves and their families. Personally, I think doctors should take it as a prophylactic. Doesn’t mean their families need to, though.

AslanFan 6 points ago +7 / -1

Yeah...it's not like they're actually getting to go home anymore.

The ER/ICU doctors I know (wife is an ICU nurse manager) are quarantining themselves from family. Like going in the house through the side door and sleeping in the basement.

How does Cuomo sit there begging for ventilators and block a prescription that might do away with the need for ventilators?

Not really, because after they are DEAD, even staunch Republicans start voting Democrat.

I got fooled yesterday by a similar report about Oregon, when Oregon had merely restrained the use of chloroquine to patients who've tested positive for the Wuhan China flue and were hospitalized. It's possible New York's order went in a similar direction. I want to read the actual order before freaking out.

For example, this might just block pharmacists from filling the prescriptions, but not doctors from obtaining and using it from their own sources for treating hospitalized patients, in order to stop a run on the chloroquine supply by people simply trying to protect themselves from infection.

Doesn't it take 5 days for the test to come back? People shouldn't be forced to possibly die while they wait for the test results if a cure is available now. People could be recovered by the time they get their test results.

Nephew has been waiting 3 days for reaults.

1
mtmason21 1 point ago +2 / -1

No one is being forced to possibly die. You're sensationalizing as bad as the fake news right now.

This simply reserves it for doctors actually treating Covid-19 patients who are actually at risk rather than dumbasses hording it at home because they're terrified of the flu they'll probably never catch.

1
havemydata 1 point ago +1 / -0

It takes up to 5 days for results. There is no reason to make people wait 5 days for medicine that can cure them by that time. You can't buy it over the counter so people won't be able to horde it.

3
GreatNW 3 points ago +3 / -0

Yea, this seems near surely to be to give doctors an easy out to say no to healthy but demanding people from pushing for prescriptions. And stopping doctors from hording for their own reasons (family, currency during the boog, whatever).

3
ThomasGiferson 3 points ago +3 / -0

Good point. If word of its effectiveness as a prophylactic spreads, everyone and their mother will be hitting doctors up for a script. Maybe even doctors asked for it.

14
RobertSparks777 14 points ago +18 / -4

Stop with the fake stories. The drugs have been approved for tests so anyone with coronavirus can get it. What Cuomo did was stop it being prescribed for bullshit things so people can't hoard it. It's an anti-hoarding bill.

If people die, can Cuomo be held responsible? I know some jackass wanted POTUS to be charged with murder for "mishandling" this dempanic. That disappeared REAL quick. However, THIS should not. Ever.

Dems blame the results of their actions on conservatives.

Racism? Conservatives did it.

Slavery? Conservatives.

Sexism? Conservatives!

National debt? CONSERVATIVES!

Wars in the Middle East? CONSERVATIVES!

Are you sure? FDA approved for "Compassionate Use". Would that classify as FDA sanctioned use?

5
FuckPlebbit 5 points ago +5 / -0

Pharmacies are state managed, so it's likely that he can do this.

Feds can get around it by direct shipments, however at this point I'd just let them suffer and stockpile the meds for states that don't pull this bullshit.

1
aone 1 point ago +1 / -0

Compassionate use is serious or life-threatening cases only.

If this drug is a cheap cure, and it appears that it may be that, then the Wuhan Flu loses its ability to be used by the Democrats and the MSM as a way to damage the economy and the USA and Trump. No wonder, Cuomo doesn't want it used.

I spent many hours yesterday researching these drug cocktails. I am not sure that this news is exactly accurate, given that Cuomo just ordered 750,000 doses for testing in his state. So it could be that they are buying up all the doses for the state to use instead of allowing pharmacists to fill them...? I have been researching this in Texas and I'm not sure what's going on up there, but they are using it.

1
aone 1 point ago +1 / -0

I think the executive order means off-label use is not permitted in NY and you can only get if in a state approved trial or in the ICU.

The FDA has only approved chloroquine for compassionate use - allows patients with serious or life-threatening cases of the virus to have access to them as investigational medicinal products https://www.pharmacytimes.com/news/fda-announces-two-drugs-approved-for-compassionate-use-in-treating-covid-19

They also mentioned compassionate use for the drug yesterday on the NY.gov website but they have now deleted it. "The FDA approved the use of a new experimental drug in New York on a compassionate care basis to help treat patients with COVID-19." https://web.archive.org/web/20200325090524/https://coronavirus.health.ny.gov/home

I also read from another thread: "I have Coronavirus, my doctor called last night to check in and I asked about it. He basically said they downgraded it and they are only using it in ICU cases at the moment." https://thedonald.win/p/FMJQmyEW/x/c/HEJ6hTbZ

Dr. Zelenko says the drugs prevented hospitalization so very unfortunate if it's only available in ICU.

1

It's ok, I'm sure if anyone of importance, such as the great Governor Cuomo, comes down with the virus they will be treated with it. Don't worry about the lower classes guys, we're all expendable.

1

I can find not a single shred of proof Cuomo did this other than 1 person's tweet that offered no proof.

Show me a credible source that this happened or it didn't happen.

Mrsattorney 0 points ago +1 / -1

I think Cuomo's order requires Covid patients to be part of a clinical trial if they take Chloroquine for the ChiVi. This way, they can collect data on its efficacy.
