Its literal medicine to many people, like those with seizure disorders and neurological pain/disorders for example.
Yes, its also recreation but the medical system has been rolled into the recreational.
What's wrong with addictive? Alcohol, tobacco, caffeine, arguably sugar and plenty of other habit forming freedoms are allowed no problem, I'm for liberty and personal choice regardless of addictive properties.
Also frankly weed stores are a comedically large part of our economy and state revenue systems here in Oregon, I'm all for anything opposing the hysterical economic halt.
I used to be a strict libertarian until a conservative professor of mine (yes they exist) hit me with the reality that second party victims aren’t the only victims. With drugs, for example. I have children...I love them more than they love themselves. Suppose, God forbid, they were to start doing drugs. The libertarian view is that they’re “not hurting anybody”...but that is very much false. They’d devastate me completely...far worse than if they physically assaulted me or stole from me or something else we do recognize as illegal.
The point is, there really are first and third party victims. You can victimize society (illegal immigration) and you can even victimize yourself. I agree that the government has to be very, very careful about how it deals with these realities, but I no longer believe that it has to stay out of them on principle. Drugs are one example, but not the only one.
Isn't it your responsibility to raise your children right and teach them not to do drugs harder than they are? If the only thing stopping them is legality, I'd consider that failure as a parent. (I also have kids).
Marijuana isn't opiates or amphetamines, both things that literally do get prescribed to children as well as adults. The harm caused by it is nearly entirely the legal system, unlike those two other examples.
i'm all for personal liberty too! i love having an opioid crisis and i think they should make every drug legal so more people will express full on liberty and get hooked on man-made chems that will alter their brains in ways they could never predict or imagine before shooting up or snorting for the first time. i'm all for having more people wake up in 20 yrs and wonder what happened to the past 20yrs of their lives, and wish to god they could go back and just NOT DO IT those first few times. but no i mean i'm all for them getting hooked on powerful chemicals they can't understand. because that makes me more about LIBERTY and FREEDOM than people who call themselves 'conservatives'.
i'm a libertarian and i'm actually more conservative than so called conservatives (because i care about getting drugs legal, and our political movement even started with people who believed in open borders, the biggest FREEDOM of all!), so that makes me a great and better person than them. that's what it's all about. i'm totally cool with having a multi-generational drug epidemic. i'm totally fine with going out in public and having society being shittier for EVERYONE, not just the drug users, because of how they have to steal etc to get their fix. it's super awesome. but i'm more about liberty than 'conservatives' and that's what matters.
drugs being legal is one of the main things i care about most, it's one of my top priorities (and of the libertarian party. out of all the things wrong with the country/world they have their priorities straight! LEGALIZE!), because i'm a libertarian and i approve of your right to get fucked up on drugs like a retard forever. do it all day. get hooked. what's wrong with that? what's wrong with you doing it in front of your kids? whats wrong with your kids sniffing pills before they turn 16 because they saw you doing it? NOTHING! in fact it's great because it's just them exercising their FREEDOM. I LOVE IT. every time a teen addict sniffs some pills a bald eagle gets a freedom boner, amirite?
and the fact that i approve of personal liberty makes me better than everyone else. again, it's like we're in a video game or a contest, and it's all about who believes in PERSONAL LIBERTIES most baby, and that's me, the totally non-retarded libertarian person.
oh no did trump just have the military drop a bomb on some evil terrorists!? WAHHHHHHHHHHH
woah, dude. i thought you were all about PERSONAL LIBERTY though? so you're saying that there's somehow some kind of universal difference between getting high on a pill vs on something that grew out of the ground, with regards to PERSONAL LIBERTY? how exactly do you differentiate or draw that line between the two? if one person likes 'toking buds' all day, and another person likes shooting up, what, exactly is the difference, in terms of personal freedom?
the point, which i'm sure you won't understand unless i explain it to you, is that if you want to reduce even just smoking weed down to strictly a 'personal freedom' argument, then i or anyone else can apply that same exact argument to any and all drugs. which was why the rant. maybe it's not just about personal freedom. maybe it's about the fact that we live in a society and it makes my day less pleasant when i'm subjected to stoners, whether they're popping pills or just wasting their lives with good old fashioned weed.
oregon left weed shops open.,,hell even let them deliver. but, but, but i thought it wasnt addictive
Im 1 month off the weed after 17 years and I am still going through body changes and acute withdrawal syndrome, I feel great though
It starts to get a lot easier after the first month

Just my take on it.

What a hilarious rant.
Yes clearly a plant is the same as 16 year olds "sniffing pills".
Enjoy your ignorance.

Florida kept their medical weed dispensaries open, and most of those have waived delivery charges for 65+.
It's a useful medication for many people. A lot of people take it in lieu of normal drugs. If pharmacies stay open, so should weed shops
