Except for ui

I swear, why was this necessary, if you liist your job just file for unemployment insurance. That's what it's there for.

Yeah as someone lucky enough to be working in a field that gets more job security in this situation, I feel weird that I'll be getting this check. I don't really need a stimulus. I'll use it to pay off some debt I guess.

In my instance, my girlfriend's (we live together) job has taken a 2-4 week hold. While I don't fully agree with this stimulous package, the money will help us with rent in the short term, since she's technically out of a job for the time being.

It’s based on your 2020 earnings in form of a 2020 tax credit. You simply get an advance based on an estimate of past earnings. Even if you make $100k you can still get a significant amount by contributing max to 401k and HSA in 2020

$300,000,000 for "refugee resettlement"

Is this really true?

Fucking outrageous.

Resettle then to fucking Afghanistan. I can't believe we're calling this a victory.

The victory is the massive small business protections in the form of loans, grants, tax credits and deferments.

All that it required to get Democrats to agree was to promise 300 mil for refugees. Not that it DOESN'T HAVE TO BE SPENT! Pres Trump can just go "Haha, no we don't need to spend that money, just send them straight back."

Can we resettle them back to their fucking home country?

If $0.3 billion is the only pork in this $2000 billion bill, I'd say we got off easy.

There is still some stupid pork but this bill cuts out the majority of the crap Pelosi was attempting to stuff into it. I agree with you.

From Fox News:

"Gone from the stimulus bill are mentions of mandatory early voting, ballot harvesting, requirements that federal agencies review their usage of "minority banks," and attempts to curb airlines' carbon emissions -- a Pelosi demand that even Saikat Chakrabarti, the former chief of staff to Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez and an author of the Green New Deal, called "ridiculous.""

Except for the millions of "refugees" that vote 90% left and will be coming to turn the country into a third world shithole just like the one they left.

No the refugees are NOT being let in. The 300 mil is for "Corona" stuff with refugees. For example testing them before allowing them to apply entry or offering on site medical care in detention centers.

All of that money doesn't go to importing more refugees. At least not as long as the right president is in office.

No, it’s not true. It’s $350,000,000.

75k adjusted gross income right? On 2018 numbers? What are the details?

2
Whitemarlin 2 points ago +2 / -0
  1. New tax credit based on 2020 taxable income.

  2. Amounts are $1,200 for individual, $2,400 per couple and $500 per dependent.

  3. Income limits are $75,000 for individuals, $112,500 for head of household, and $150,000 for joint returns before a phase out begins. You are completely phased out ($0 credit) at around $99,000 for an individual. Since this is based on adjusted gross income for 2020, your tax planning should start now. If you are right around the cusp of $75-$100k (individual) you may want to consider putting more money into your 401k this year to reduce your tax income and make sure you get more benefit from the credit.

  4. You will receive an advance on your 2020 tax credit based on your 2019 tax income as an estimate for your 2020 tax year. If you haven’t filed 2019 taxes yet you may use your 2018 tax year. If you don’t have either, social security benefits records can be used. No interest will be charged if they overpay you with your advanced payment.
