The government has conditioned the public that no matter what adverse situation there is, the government can send money and fix it. Every time they do this, they pick winners and losers . Based, I hear ya. I worked for almost 50 years in the software field to get to my 6 figures after starting at $4 per hour. All the training over the years to keep up with changing technology doesn't come cheap and usually means that you don't take vacations either.
I misspoke. I won't get a CHECK. The economy should surge and we need this as a country. The idea of the bill has my support. I just don't agree with the execution of the stimulus checks. I paid my due in taxes as did many others with much more income than myself. We deserve our cut, just like the next guy. It shouldn't matter if I have a million dollars in my checking account (I don't), that money being passed out to this country is partly mine. This is socialism.

Not sure, but it looks like they will pro-rate it ($50 for every $1000) for an individual over $50k. That should mean you will get $950 ($1200 - $250). But don't order that new Trump campaign gear yet, because that is what I believe I read, not positive.

We owe the IRS $3500 this year (after paying many times that in taxes already) and will get zero from this stimulous. Meanwhile Congress will get $25 million in bonuses (in this stupid bill.)
I also pay $1200 a month to student loan debt and gave 9 years of my life to education to get in this position. You don't know my or anyone else's financial situation. That's not the point of this post anyways. The money being given away is partly mine and I deserve my portion. If you think I should get less of own money than someone else because I make more than them, then you're a socialist.

The cumulative inflation rate since 1975 is 380%. Considering inflation alone an item that cost 5 cents in 1975 would now cost 24 cents.
