Fucking hilarious and true. The next person that tells me we need to trade with China to have cheap goods is getting pimp slapped. China has zero respect for the USA. They may as well just be pissing on us.

I'm convinced the whole "China is cheaper" thing is a lie anyway. These people go on and on about how we need to cut costs but you never see these motherfuckers build HQs outside of anywhere but the most expensive cities on Earth and good luck finding a single advertising campaign that cost less than 8 figures. I guarantee you if it were ever legitimately cheaper to manufacture in the US, and it will be the moment China breaks out into another one of its scheduled civil wars, they won't even attempt to bother.

Outsourcing was never about costs. It was about taking power from the people.

Outsourcing was never about costs.

It was about supply line stability. A friend manufactures widgets that require some electronics. His story: If he has the electronics made in the USA, there are something like twenty different suppliers involved. A strike at any one of the suppliers, or by any transport moving parts from supplier A to sub-assembler B throws off his whole process. He can lose tens of thousands because some union, somewhere decides they want another $.25 an hour. When he sends the job to china, he gets back the completed electronics when they said he'd get them. No strikes, no delays. He has to trash about 3% for quality issues, but that doesn't matter, because he gets them when he needs them.

EDIT: It is also about exporting pollution, but that's a different rant.

Yup. At some point we need to realize the left just prefers China.
