There's a great solution to this. Completely isolate China from the US and get other countries to follow. No US companies deal with China. No Chinese products enter the US. High restrictions on Chinese visitors (which would probably include no Chinese-born students in US universities or Chinese-born workers in important companies). With that, the communists will die out, and we can deal with a new Chinese government depending on what the Chinese people decide to do.

I have a distinct feeling that's not going to happen until we manufacture things again. Medicine certainly stands out.

Yeah, even if Trump were given China's authoritarian powers and he mandated that all businesses stop dealing with China, it would take years to move that industry back over. It's not such a simple process.

Our economy would suffer heavily if we just cut Chinese ties. Trump is doing what he can to get people to bring manufacturing back here first.
