Guys...he predicted over 2 million deaths in the US.

Adjusted for population, that's what the Spanish flu would have killed in the US. And that's not taking into account that medical care has improved dramatically in the past 100 years.

So basically this fucktard was saying COVID-19 would have the same impact as the Spanish flu.

Unfortunately for him, reality caught up with his dumbass model. Civilian deaths for the Spanish flu started trickling in around early September 1918. By early October, people were dying in the fucking streets. New York City alone had a total of 30,000 deaths in those two months. Adjusted for population, we would expect to see 50,000 deaths in NYC.

By this time, even with social distancing, NYC should have 25,000 - 30,000 deaths.

NYC is currently around 200 deaths.

Anybody running around saying that he "updated the model" to account for social distancing is fucking brain dead. By week two or three of the Spanish flu, most people were on lockdown, with the exception of the city of Philadelphia.

This was pitched as the new Spanish flu, and it isn't even fucking close. Not remotely in the same ballpark.

I agree with POTUS' 2 week off approach. This is a deadly virus for the elderly, and we needed time to move resources around. Now that we've done that, it's time to get back to work.
