To American Governors:

Open your fucking states back up. Stop fear mongering. Get everyones ass back to fucking work and make America great again.

Sincerely,

Every fucking one.

I don’t see how they can enforce anything like that without laws defining the punishment etc, but I’ll be damned if I’m not allowed to go outside on my property whenever I damn well please.

There are precedents for states of emergency. If they did this during the Spanish Flu, far less would have died.

I be trying to tell people we're basically in low-key martial law, it's not MARTIAL LAW martial law but it's pretty much martial law lol.

Hah, lets see them run a fact check with that order against the 1st Amendment! You need to tell them they are acting in a seditious manner against the Supreme Law of the Land.

7

I have to carry a letter stating I work for an essential company that's providing necessary supplies to the testing clinics and vaccine studies. I don't think I'll get pulled over once. In fact, I've only seen 1 officer since this all started 3/4 weeks ago

1
bellamy 1 point ago +1 / -0

no that takes too much work they just stand there in the road and wait for you you can live your life but only on one side of the checkpoint

3

Here in WA, I've been visiting Home Depot and Lowe's every day. Apparently they are considered essential. Lot of honey-dos are getting checked off.

But yes, I sense that we are very close to boiling over.

12
fat50 12 points ago +12 / -0

So go outside. Civil disobedience is a thing. This is one thing us liberals are good at.

Fight the power!

Go outside!

Nobody will arrest you.

I've been ignoring the whole "stay at home" bullshit since the start here in N.Y.

I'm a self employed carpenter, so not "essential" AFAIK, but I need to work. If I don't work, I lose customers.

It's all those pot shops and abortion clinics that are considered essential.

9

WA actually shut down parks and recreation areas so you cannot even go for a walk. They shut down fishing. Like you could fish within 6 feet of someone if you wanted to. What the heck?

All the traitor shitlibs on Plebbit right now are saying "THE ENTIRE US ECONOMY IS NOT WORTH MORE THAN EVEN ONE SINGLE LIFE!"

These are the same faggots who, when arguing why guns should be banned, say "Cars are legal despite their death toll because they're required for the economy."

23
somenobody 23 points ago +23 / -0

They also think you should kill anyone "the rich" ie anyone who reminds them of their dad who yelled at them that one time because they wouldn't get out of bed in time for church. Hollywood, Wall Street, Silicone Valley, that place in upstate New York that gets like 75% of the state's welfare despite being a six figure average income county and half of Capitol Hill get a free pass though.

14
ChuckedBeef 14 points ago +14 / -0

Fucking idiots! What do they think the death toll would be if the entire economy crashed? People shooting each other in the street, fighting for precious resources as their money no longer holds any value and all of the banks and credit companies have closed anyway. People going on murder sprees, looting, rioting, just because "fuck it" it's the end of the world as they see it. Suicides spike, children starving, supply lines have stopped, police are gone, and snowflakes like those idiots on Reddit are the first to succumb.

Yeah, but we saved a few people from the Kung Flu so it's all worth it. /s

The economy isn't just about wealth it's about survival. The system we have built is fragile and if it collapses most people are fucked.

4

Your timeline needs adjusting. Much of what you wrote has already happened.

Some of this is theory, and some of it is fact, but China is already broke from a real estate and banking crisis fueled by corruption and failed communist planning. The trade war was just Trump finishing the job.

Xi also has an ongoing rebellion in his party. He needed deep cover to conduct a purge. You can't just kill millions like in the days of Mao. SARS2.0 gave him that plus he got rid of a huge chunk of unhealthy older people. The fact that it's spread is part of WW3.

He will, or already has been, paid and he's using that to shore up his economy. Ironically, we're probably getting some of that money with that huge grain order they placed.

Good times!

One, I dont get sick (asthmatic and comes from a family of asthmatics, if people say go work and if you get sick you'd be fine...go minecraft yourself I have a family I'm trying to grow. Cant afford for some illegal to walk around with the virus and get me ill). Two its generating something that this state hasnt seen since Reagan suppressed the Republican vote with his signature immigration bill in 1986. Three... there'd be a surge in people buying life policies and prepping for the next one. Four, I'm pretty used to staying home for work (home office), I do a lot of jogging so I dont have to worry about how shitty traffic. Five...this state may flip read for the majority because of how horribly the city and state governments botched this.

Fuck Evers. We have 1 reported case here in calumet county for a week and it’s in the only part of the county that’s in Appleton. My tenants are freaking out because their is a three week moratorium on work. People are gonna lose their health insurance through their employers, unemployment isn’t paying people shit atm. I waived rent on 129 units for April which is over 80,000 in lost revenue which I’ll have to dig through the fed to recover. Absolutely retarded

4

5

We do but we don’t treat our properties like a piggy bank we rob every month. For some, not having those rent payments next month is gonna be an issue

2

Real talk, this man identified early on that this virus would be used as a cudgel to attack him. If twenty people died it would be a national emergency and all his fault; 24/7 nonstop media coverage.

He not only prepared us for future deadly pandemics (because let's face it... this one isn't "dire" in the sense of a Spanish Flu) by re-shaping our current testing processes and distribution pipelines, but he's totally turned the tables on those seeking to harm him politically by handling the crisis undeniably well and funneling a huge chunk of money from the government back into the citizens' hands as well as small and large businesses.

I'm honestly impressed with how he's still navigating the swamp seemingly with such ease. At this point he's a fucking sentient fan-boat as far as I'm concerned.

Don't be so negative, prepare as if that is the case, but have faith that this will be another overreaction.

8
Vellicho 8 points ago +8 / -0

Bottom line is, for the overwhelming majority of us, we are living through a "War of the Worlds" sort of scenario. Where, we, sitting at home, are listening to the media tell us the world is going to absolute hell in a handbasket, but from the comfort of our homes it all seems pretty much the same. Sun is shining, people are walking their dogs, just nobody is eating at restaurants or going to school or work.

This. So much this. You turn on the a news outlet to pandemonium; go outside and all is well on your street. It's gaslighting in the worst way. I just moved here in October and I'm legitimately worried about what my neighbors will do because of the perception of where we are as a nation. The virus? Sure, I could get sick. But I have fuel, food, water, and shelter and no idea how much anyone else has or what they will be willing to do to acquire mine. While that might sound extreme, people are eating fish tank cleaner hoping for a cure to a disease they don't have, and the loudest voices are holding the spokesperson for the accumulated medical efforts directly responsible - so we're at an all-time low on common sense.

At the same time, Trump is absolutely right, in that if we commit economic suicide, the human cost of that will eclipse the virus very quickly. Have no doubt of it. The economy is life. It's not just "money".

And this is the other thing. How do people NOT understand this? We can print all the money in the world, but you still need to maintain a balance of production and consumption like any other living being.

And the fact that I haven't left my house is a week just leaves me alone with my thoughts, lol. Ok - rant over.

7
ChuckedBeef 7 points ago +10 / -3

A good CEO provides vision and hope in a sea of uncertainty and doubt.

I am tired of people saying this will kill millions and we are already dead. What message is that? That we will just roll over, give up, and die?

Fuck no, not in my America. Taking “lessons” from countries like Italy whose GPD is almost half of what our entire Health Care systems is worth is completely pointless. Of course tons of people are dying over there. I hate to say it, but we have smarter, brighter and more dedicated people who will squash this like the bug it is. We also have the best PRIVATE sector (GM, Tesla, Honeywell, ect) who are stepping up big time.

God bless America. They fucked around and awoke a sleeping giant (To quote a famous Japanese Commander)

14
chuckachookah 14 points ago +15 / -1

Surely this will be used as "evidence" by the Coronapeachment oversight committee (authorized in the current bill) headed our way by [checks calendar] early September, just in time for the general election.

If there was ever a time for the Line Item Veto, this would be it. GEOTUS is likely to sign the bill that will empower a committee of Democrats to abuse their power and declared intentions of the oversight committee to pursue yet another phony Hoax 'peachment.

Guaranteed.

11
Ackshually 11 points ago +11 / -0

You have a monkey-see-monkey-do situation with a lot of the governers and big city mayors right now. They all went from ”close the schools” to mandatory quarantine to “stay at home order” together. It wasn’t logic or good policy but perceptions that caused them to make all these restrictions. Once someone does it, you follow or risk looking weak.

Now constituents are absolutely mortified thanks to the media, and no leader wants to be the first to lift restrictions. Luckily we have Trump running the show. Any other leader would be too afraid to speak out against this groupthink because of the same perception problem.

Most are Dem states. In CT the last two races the Rep candidate was winning until "issues" arose in the largest cites and somehow enough votes appear. Strange.

I'm sure they'll figure out some way to twist and tangle into something like that.

Don't forget everyone... as free citizens of the United States, we have the innate inalienable right protected by the 1st Amendment to peaceably assemble. To deny this right is sedition. To attempt to curtail it is sedition. Governor's can recommend and demand all they want.. the Constitution still stands unrepealed.

Sorta ironic, all these liberals who want everything shutdown for months may just get their wish. CA and NY will be last to open.

Silver linings.

I like the comment about going back to "normal economic, social and religious lives" since we all know the left wants nothing more than shuttered churches. I suspect (or at least hope and pray) that there is even more prayer than before and hopefully when the churches can reopen they will have many more in the pews.

This site aggregates all local county health department data. If a local health organization inflates their numbers, there should be extreme and immediate penalty. I'm pretty sure that's why the "surveillance" phrase.

Yes. Have been tracking since 3/11 and the increased testing is apparent.

However, what I've noticed is more and more distancing between tracking sites.

The one Fox uses--Johns Hopkins--is total SHITE, IMO. It is the one I think must be under the DS influence--oddly, because I would have thought the CDC site would be. They use it because it paints the most horrific picture.

However, there is a variance of about 30% now between it and the CDC site for total cases and deaths.

Impossible to know what the real story is, so I'm thinking that the COVIDTracking.com site, which is fed only from local sources, is the most sound.
