I have a respirator with replacement filters. Why not use disinfectant spray on the outside after taking off?

Not baking, spraying outside with disinfectant spray (like 1.5 oz Clorox in quart of water, which meets or exceeds Clorox's recommended for surface disinfection for coronaviruses)

Question, if you sterilize in the oven, should it be placed directly on the rack, or on a baking sheet

I always reused my n95s. Used to put it in a ziplock bag after removing it with gloved hands.

They are now saying you should put it in a paper bag because of the moisture and possible mold.

Yes. Paper bag allows droplets to dry out resulting in faster viral degradation. My hospital is using paper bags. (We don’t have a current shortage but are trying to prevent a shortage in the future)

Try not to touch the mask at all-just the elastic straps
