Every study I have seen has showed that mild social distancing will stop the spread more effectively than a quarantine will.

Meanwhile, the economy continues to plummet, causing the need for government intervention... Sure sounds like communism to me.

Found this interesting: My math is good.

“While there are 64 intensive care beds available with the possibility for 16 more, if 20 percent of Tuscaloosa County residents become infected with coronavirus then about 2,700 people – 7.3 percent of the almost estimated 37,000 infected, based on current trends – will require hospitalization”

I looked up the pop of Tuscaloosa and it’s only 100K. This would make the infection estimate 20K not 37K. Dropping the need for beds down to 1460 beds. That’s still 18 times more beds than they have. Alabama’s pop is 4,908,621.

Then I noticed this:

New York (39,125) (454) (19,440,969)

                 Cases. Deaths. Population

So if we round off, New York is 4 x’s the size of Alabama. Based on these numbers Tuscaloosa would never get to 37K cases if New York only has 39K.
If we extrapolate the New York case numbers, Alabama would see 9250 cases and need 7.3% of that number, 675 beds. Tuscaloosa would only stand to see 1/50th of that number based on the ratio of its population to the state’s, equaling 14 beds.

Even if you quadruple that number for their 70% infected, doomsday scenario, I see a need for 14 x 4 = 64 beds.

Dude looks psyco. It is very constitutional for governors, mayor's ,etc to put restrictions as long as they apply to everyone. I'm so happy trump has said no to him declaring any curfews, or using the national guard. If people get pissed about government over reach it wasn't him. But if they do over reach he can stop them. It exactly how it's supposed to work. I thank God we have trump for this pandemic.. if you have faith or not this is divine intervention right here.

So pretty much a shelter in place, minus the going outside and walking.

It's poorly worded, but the same thing as other counties in other areas. Essential places still open. Food stores, gas, hardware stores, restaurant drive through still open. Get what you need but limit extracurricular activities. Same here in NC. Shitty wording though.

Tuscaloosa, Alabama? What's next? Cleveland, Ohio? Mountain Valley? Victorville? Eugene, Oregon?

Eureka, California (let it burn let burn)

Anyone else immediately get Sublime stuck in their head?
