Brazilian doctor here. Indeed we're not being cockblocked and can prescribe exactly that. But our patients are unlikely to find hydroxychloroquine available for sale anywhere, thanks to those goddamn stockpilers who raided the drugstores when the news came out last week.

Thankfully our drug regulation agency has since made hydroxychloroquine prescription-only, so our drugstores should slowly fill up on it again. Z pak (azithromycin), being an antibiotic, was already prescription-only before the hysteria, so it's still generally available everywhere.

We'll probably be fine.

Also, we'll have a large sample size to further study Chinese Virus treatment, which may not be the case where doctors are in fact being cockblocked.

Why are antibiotics prescription only? I hate going to the doctors.. wasting my time.. spending unnecessary money on the visit merely for permission to obtain what I already know I need.
