It's pretty ridiculous if they can. I mean seriously, is this the new norm, every Flu season from now on they're gonna use this precedent to confine us all to our homes, forcibly close businesses and fuck the economy out of "abundance of caution"? This cant happen everytime theres some threat of a virus going around.

Hopefully the economic ramifications will stay their hands in the future, but you're right about a worrisome precedent being set.

The NCSL site has a list of the states with statute #s and powers given to the Governor.

Those in affected states should definitely consider using that list to read up on and quote the statutes right at their legislators & Governors.

They are stretching their power very, very thinly on this. In my unedumecated opinion, they are illegally abusing their powers and violating the Constitution.

I hope some lawsuits are filed and this is challenged. Is this constitutional? We’re not America anymore and may never be again.

Laws only work for Democrats, not against them.

We need mass layoffs at the media companies. Like the rest of the country. We’ll see how quickly the narrative of “we’re all gonna fuckin die!!!” changes when their the ones sent to the unemployment line.
