I mean, yes and no. Church is a great place to get sick on mass (get it) and I think the clergy realize that. However, it does seem like weakness to not modernize around the problem. The baptists and Presbyterian churches near me are doing web masses. Theres no eucharist, but its something

One can also study together as a family if one cant go to service, i share this home/family study guide for the NT from my Church general Christians can use as a template https://media.ldscdn.org/pdf/scripture-and-lesson-support/come-follow-me-for-individuals-and-families-new-testament-2019/2019-01-0000-come-follow-me-for-individuals-and-families-new-testament-2019-eng.pdf?lang=eng

I think not, but I'm hardly an austere religious scholar

I'm sure they are doing fine things in their own way. I'm also quite sure the Baptists and the Presbyterians are not doing masses. :)

I am a Catholic. I live Catholic, I will die Catholic. What you don't hear about are the average parish priests and what they are having to deal with trying to be shepherds through all of this insanity. There are many good and holy men among them doing whatever they can for their people.

The Church has endured every plague in the past, and times like these are what challenge people to live what they profess above and beyond what they are used to. Times like these make saints.

That being said, we are also sadly seeing that there are few saints among the bishops these days.

Unless something big happens before Easter. Not sure about you, but I find the timing of all this interesting...

I am sad too. It broke my heart when I found out my diocese had suspended public Masses. But at least we know that Mass is still being said, even if only the angels can be there.

Closing down those big, public events at the Vatican was rational.

I've been there. St. Peter's is enormous, the crowds from all over the world fill it, and they mill around, shoulder to shoulder.

It's the perfect place to amplify a respiratory disease.

Faith and science go together. So there are ways to do this without getting a ton of people sick. Outdoor masses with people spread apart. Streaming prayer services. This is an opportunity to learn how to reach a lot of people with Jesus, but only if you care enough to try.

I'm glad for my LDS (aka Mormon) Church for being home and family centered, so that while normal activities and chapels are closed to avoid contracting it, we can have our own service at home, what a blessing.

I hope other fellow Christian pedes have ways to worship while physical gatherings are closed, maybe keep an eye out for your respective denomination's fb pages or something for livestreams? Ive seen the Universal and certain Protestant churches use that?

Stay safe and God bless you and our fellow countrymen so that we return to normal

I was raised Catholic and will remain so. Francis however, and likely a large number of the bishops and cardinals are corrupt globalists and don’t represent what the faith should be. Priests within the parishes however are busting their asses for their local communities, at least they are in my neck of the woods. Much thanks to them.

There are rumours that the pope and a number of priests were arrested. Nothing I can prove. Is this what "hidden away" means?

So, the pope is not doing any streaming of mass? Seems like this would be a good time to give the faithful some reassurance. Same with the priests/cardinals/etc.

When was the last time the pope was seen in public, or sent a video or photo or tweet or anything?

The Pope did a livestreamed event a couple hours ago. So no, he has not been arrested or put away.

The Roman Catholic religion is a pedofile cult!

If you think everyone or even remotely close to everyone in the church is a "pedofile", you're just as lost as one then.
