A app that can be manipulated with ease to drive panic as it can be made to say anyone near them has China virus... Yeah... big skip you fear mongering liberal brainwashing institution.

If you know you have the virus, why would you be interacting with ANYONE except the individual bringing you food and observing proper precautions?

If you are the kind of person who would not comply with such common sense, why would you install a tracking app on your phone?

This only works in places like China where the phone tracking is not optional.

There’s a pede here who is an American living in China. They have that there. If his phone goes from green to yellow, he has to lock himself back in his home, it turns to yellow, then red depending upon who you come in contact with.

Even if I totally believed there would be absolutely no privacy concerns with this (I don't for a second), what the hell good would this do for me?

Let's see--I'm not feeling sick in any way, so I go out. App starts playing sirens and there's someone 1000ft away with the Chinese Virus. What I'm supposed to go home and quarantine for 14 days because I was exposed? What are they doing out anyway shouldn't they be home because they are sick?

If I wanted to be Chinese I would move to China. I don't care what they are doing.

Since it's fucking AFTER THE FACT... I'll just figure it out the old fashioned way.

a) Do I have COVID-19 or b) NOT

And don't give up consent to be tracked.

no. the protocol should be, you wait til you experience symptoms, then you get tested and you go from there. No symptoms, no test, no worry.
If you believe you came in contact with someone who had it, it's up to YOU to self-quarantine and isolate, not some app, government body or lawmaker

On the surface it seems like a good idea. But control of stuff like this is too easily lost, and once abused it is impossible to put the toothpaste back in the tube. Will have to be a NO from me.

I heard you'd be first in line for the vaccine if you sent in your firstborn.

I think this type of thing played a big role in South Koreans success in limiting spread. See article below. It mentions the privacy SK citizens give up for all these tracking measures.
