Thus, in addition to its direct therapeutic role, this association can play a role in controlling the disease epidemic by limiting the duration of virus shedding, which can last for several weeks in the absence of specific treatment.

Well that's great news!

Given the urgent therapeutic need to manage this disease with effective and safe drugs and given the negligible cost of both hydroxychloroquine and azithromycin, we believe that other teams should urgently evaluate this therapeutic strategy both to avoid the spread of the disease and to treat patients before severe irreversible respiratory complications take hold.

To the top it is!

"before severe irreversible respiratory complications take hold"

Yet, many times this is only being used as a last ditch effort. This treatment needs to be given on a large scale as soon as covid 19 is confirmed.

They mentioned one patient "in whom the evolution [of the disease] was irreversible", so it's important to start the treatment before it becomes too severe. We need to make sure the people who need it the most get it first.

Agree. So liberal Governors aren’t allowing it

You mean it isn't fish tank cleaner? What did I spend $600 at the pet store for?

Your fish are really clean now, but not unless you brushed thoroughly under the gills.

And the fish don’t have a single bit of Covid-19

The availability of the drugs are so high and the number of cases so low right now anyone that tests positive should be given the option to be immediately put on the hydroxychloroquin + azith combo

It's promising but it's a small sample size. In short, according to this article efficacy was better at 600 mg hydroxychloroquine with azithromycin to follow/cover bacterial superinfection compared to a Chinese similar studies that used 400 mg instead.

Basically, we need more people to do studies with 600 mg to affirm or disprove this. This is only between 30-60 patients between 2 locations.

Also seems like you can still shed the virus up to 20 days but not sure if that's after infection or after recovery.
