This isn't taught in the classroom. They're still teaching fact finding, fact checking, headline writing, etc. But when you get the job, the front office tells you what to report and how. They know their power and they use it. It's the advertising dept. vs. the editorial dept. and editorial NEVER wins. Journalists get to make the moral decisions like keeping bread on the table or writing FAKE NEWS for their paycheck overlord. Trish Reagan chose and it hasn't gone well for her.

Well, lately went back to school and naturally we had to write papers. They beat the plagiarism drum so hard that students wouldn't use anything g but previously vetted sources in the schools virtual library. They were killing their ability to do proper research S the vetted sources included orevi look us papers of students. The materials were so thoroughly researched out that you could make up words aBout a subject out of thin air Nd no doubt plagiarize one of those papers. That won't mean much to many but some of you may relate. Fortunately igot my degree before the te h age and actually used real books in libraries to do the research work.
