I’ve written off “sustainability” as a SJW buzzword, but is that right? Maybe if our production was better we would be encouraged to have hubs globally vs using China as a singular source (& lynchpin) to so many industries.
If we don’t take some responsibility for more production, we can only bow to Chinese dependency.
It's changing.
I own a factory in Malaysia and have to compete against Chinese stuff for years. The CCP will award special benefits to the massive companies, creating more disparity in company competition.
The big guys I am going up against are in SERIOUS trouble, they are scrambling to get out of CHina and figure out where to go.
My industry specifically relies on materials from Indonesia, but hopefully I can bring a factory to the US one day. I would be in support of "protectionist" laws that slowly made me come home.
Godspeed, pede. It took time to develop to the current point, & will take more to reposition. This is a huge mind-shift that most of USA needs to grapple with. Short term benefits of low cost production need to be balanced against long term losses in economic (& political) stability.
I’m not an intl business owner so I completely understand the position you & so many others are in right now. Please don’t take this as finger-wagging in your face; I’ve seen enough MADE IN CHINA labels plastered throughout our goods to understand this is a system-wide problem involving the majority of manufacturers.
Best wishes to you, your company, & any hardships you’re weathering in the current climate.
