People who don't have coronavirus symptoms won't go anywhere near a hospital unless it's absolutely fucking dire, since there is a very high chance you'll get wuflu while you're there. Even people with flu symptoms wouldn't necessarily go in, because what if it's just normal flu and I get wuflu as well?
People with flu symptoms who enter a hospital might get an expedited triage process and get seen right away (to get them treatment ASAP if they have it, or get them the fuck out of there if they don't.) End result? Waiting rooms aren't the bottleneck anymore.
You are correct. People who dont have true emergencies are not showing up for fear of getting the virus.
That proves that a huge percentage of ER visits arent actual emergencies.

I have friends who work in the ER and in urgent care clinics and they are telling me that most patients with cold symptoms are going to urgent care and walk in clinics rather than the ER.
I already told my kids that even if they manage to chop a finger off, we aren't going to a Hospital.
Patients who do have COVID-19 are put under CDC Quarantine, you aren't even allowed to leave your room (and those that came with the patient are also locked in the room). That being said, the numbers and these empty Emergency Waiting rooms are a good sign. Maybe this shit is dying down.
