This is correct. This area is all Hasidic Jews. I have been unable to find a good article online to show this, maybe somebody can help. When I search, I just find articles about anti-semetism being prevalent. But talking to friends there, they say it is all because of the Orthodox Jews and their practices and disregard for avoiding gatherings.
Look up Lakewood, NJ. Big problem. Lots of Hasidic Jews who think they can do whatever they want. Not sure why they have to be so fucking defiant, but defiant they are..
FYI, Jersey pede here (yeah, I know -- user name doesn't check out -- originally from Massastupitts).
Not sure if this is what you’re looking for. I noticed these 2 articles in the last couple of days. One is about Jewish in NJ and the second claiming that the death rate among British Jews is high as ell.
This is strange. With all the health concerns addressed effectively in the law of Moses, they should be especially keen to observe common sense precautions that limit the spread of infectious disease. They should be eager to sacrifice for the benefit of their fellow man i.e. neighboring towns, States, the rest of the Country.
If they want to gather in large numbers for corporate worship despite making their own sick, at least self-contain. This is just common courtesy.
Now I'm worried about the Amish communities out here. No known large outbreaks yet, maybe only because of no testing. Will they be equally irresponsible?
I don't understand this either, but they kept their own schools open at least a week, maybe two, after the public schools shut down. I don't think it's the entire community who are breaking the laws, but apparently enough people are so that they have, at last count 236 cases within one town.
As for the Amish, aren't they kind of self quarantined anyway? As far as I know they don't really mix with other people that much, they don't travel much. I'd say they're pretty low risk. They also tend to obey the law.
The Amish travel from Pennsylvania to New Jersey every week for Amish markets. There are two within 20 minutes of my house. Very large markets. Great food. Excellent meat at good prices. The markets are open Thursday through Saturday. I went 8 days ago. But I haven’t gone since and my husband isn’t going to let me go anymore until this is over because I’m pregnant.
They do what they need to survive. They manufacture for non-Amish companies. They do travel to non-Amish businesses. I would expect them to be no problem at all, but I would expect the same of Hasidic Jews.
