I have no idea what our supply of z pack is. If we gave 0 HCQ to anyone in flyover country where there's 0 confirmed positive cases we might get by with as little as 2 billion pills of HCQ. We don't have nearly that many. We've had millions donated to the US, and domestic production has restarted in WV with product scheduled to ship by late April.
NY has most of our current supply and is hoarding it. They're prohibited from giving it to infected people unless they're at risk of death and also in the half of the clinical study not being given a placebo. Their number of infected vs dead reflects this strategy. They're down below 1% dead now, but still have nearly half the cases in the whole Country.
Sealing the State lines is the only responsible course of action, and that's meaningless unless you include NJ and CT. Maybe these 3 States can minimize the spread into their rural areas, it's certainly worth trying.
