@MMC. Even in the land of poop and homeless (CA) with a pop of close to 40,000,00 (which Newsome did close us down several weeks ago), we have only 4000 cases identified with 100 deaths.
NY, with a pop of close to 20,000,000 has over 53,000 cases identified and close to 800 deaths.
NY's Cuomo waited so long to act. Both he and DeBlasio encouraged people to have a hug and attend parades without a care in the world. And their schools just recently closed down.
However, Newsome is far-left, has seriously damaged CA and he would never end up as an X on my ballot, but he did do the right thing (in this case only).
That's the thing, to win in CA you have to be far left. If Newsome was in a mid-western state he'd play moderate and probably be touted as a 'sane democrat'.
Lets not kid ourselves Newsome is a political animal. He's probably on par with maneuvering with the Clintons minus the body count.
He did the right call because to him and his aspirations this looks good for him on the presidential stage come 2024.
It also helps that a bunch of corporations started to voluntarily shut down. Its also Newsome's fault that CA got it early because the idiots near the AFB didnt practice protocol correctly and somehow something...got through from the quarantine (to this day they cant figure out how...my guess an asymptomatic carrier).
