And active promotes it. I see a governor going against this and trump sending the states own guard under his orders to secure gunshops so they can open unmolested.
It's so awesome when Trump's people throw a monkey wrench in the Rats' authoritarian plans. His team is getting better every day. Still need to give the boot to some people though.
I agree. Bump stocks were taken and Trump didn't even horse trade for them. Personally, I would have said, OK, you want bump stocks? Sure, I'm reasonable. Give me over the counter silencers and we'll just call it even, OK?
We lost bump-stocks, but binary triggers and the double-tap triggers are still a thing. Makes about as much sense as the information we have on the Vegas Shooters.
Beautifully said, but this is basically ALL liberal positions. Notice open borders, child drag queens, pronouns, all went out the fucking window with the pandemic?
I'm a strong second amendment supporter living in deep blue Brooklyn. I've been debating this issue for years. The hard core anti-gunners haven't changed. It was the soft anti-gunners; the ones that associated guns with gangs and dumb back woodsmen who've changed. They're the ones who are beginning to understand that in times of crisis the government is unable to help.
To their credit we need to come up with self defense weapons that are designed for urban living. Meaning that the round stops the aggressor but doesn't keep going through sheetrock walls.
Example, you live in an apartment and there is only two pieces of 5/8 sheetrock that separate you from your neighbor. Twenty feet further another two pieces separate you from a third neighbor.
My guess is a high mass, low velocity hollow-point round that breaks up easily. But what the fuk do I know?
"This list is advisory in nature. It is not, nor should it be considered, a federal directive or standard. Additionally, this advisory list is not intended to be the exclusive list of critical infrastructure sectors, workers, and functions that should continue during the COVID-19 response across all jurisdictions. Individual jurisdictions should add or subtract essential workforce categories based on their own requirements and discretion. "
I think it was more in response to my shithole state (NJ.) When Murphy's admin was pressed on why gun shops aren't essential, they defaulted to "we were just following federal guidelines."
Ha. I just posted that excerpt. Yup. Pretty sweet that he included it, but like a good President, he’s not overreaching with federal power, even when it makes sense to.
This is one of the main reasons why every OP should include a link to the source instead of just a screenshot. A headline can be misleading, and even if it isn't, it never tells the whole story.
Even when it's easy to find, OPs should ALWAYS do us the courtesy and favor to provide a link to the source.
I know it doesn't make a difference being just me, but I don't even upvote posts that don't offer a link to the online source (unless there isn't one) instead of, or in addition to, a screenshot.
I almost always comment about it when I see posts that only provide a screenshot, but I haven't noticed these comments disappearing. They could have disappeared and I just don't know about it, but I fail to understand why posts requesting links rather than screenshots would be censored, if that has happened.
We should all comment against screenshots without links.
You were called a moron by the OP who started the thread using a screenshot instead of a link. And I guess other users who like to start threads using screenshots agreed with that OP and downvoted your perfectly polite and reasonable comment. It's strange that some OPs barely write comments and just start thread after thread.
You should ignore the rude screenshot-loving moron who called you a moron for no reason, and the few others who downvoted you. I can't see any reasonable pede preferring to have a headline screenshot, and have to go look up the article for more details, rather than being provided with a link to a full article, especially in the age of clickbait headlines.
If OP's would rather their post title link to a screenshot instead of to the source article, they can at least provide the article URL in the comment they can post under the thread title.
Sure, we all know how to look up stuff using search engines, but WHY would OPs make thousands of people go to a search engine, type up a headline or a piece of text (sometimes the screenshot is of a specific part of an article and we don't even know where the text is from) to find an article that OP already had the URL of, and could easily have done us the favor of providing?
I can't see a reason for OPs not providing a link, unless for a really petty one. All I can come up with is that, since threads rise to the top page when the post is highly upvoted and has many comments, OPs want to keep users from leaving their threads in hopes that people won't forget to upvote and will comment, while if people go read a full article on another website, they might not come back to the thread to comment and/or upvote.
It sounds pretty stupid, but I can't think of any non-petty/stupid reason for any OP not to provide a link to the source of the screenshot they use when starting a thread.
Even if they found the screenshot somewhere else instead of taking it themselves, OPs could look up the source of the screenshot and headline before starting a thread here, so that, even if their thread title links to the screenshot, they can add the link to the source in the complementary comments of the post they submit.
I can't make anyone do anything, but IMHO, I consider it to be impolite for anyone to start a thread that has an online source by providing only a screenshot that offer no details. Personally, I won't upvote a thread started with only a screenshot, and I usually politely comment about how much better than a screenshot a link is, and I add to my comment the link to the article not offered by the OP.
When you start a thread here, if you choose to submit a "link post," a thumbnail of the top image of the webpage usually appears by the post title, but I noticed that sometimes there is no thumbnail when the post is started with a link, which probably happens when the article has no image files or, maybe, when it uses a hotlink to display an image.
A post linked to an archive.is page should also display at least a thumbnail image here too.
Doesn't appear that I can DM/PM here but some to r/thingsandstuff (on reddit), go to the most recent post and I'll send you the info on why that happens.

Best part about this is all the first time of gun buyers who were against the 2nd will have a rude awakening. “What do you mean I have to wait 10 days!!!!” Bahahaha
While I didn't expect them to order gun sales stopped, I certainly didn't expect them to single out gun sellers (and manufacturers) as essential. I kind of just expected them to not say anything about it and leave it to the Supreme Court to make a ruling.
This has a bigger meaning but I'm not quit sure I know what it is.
I guess the spirit of it is that guns are essential to upholding the constitution, no matter how much Democrats would like you to forget that in a time of crisis.
You and I know that, but do you think bureaucrats see it that way? One of the things that made me so hesitant about voting for Trump in '16 was his prior statements about gun ownership. I always got the impression he was lukewarm about the whole thing...at best., so I would be surprised if he was the one who gave the order. But, maybe he did.
We need this in Australia, Where our government has forcefully closed gunshops in two states and the rest to follow suite, But hairdressers etc are allowed to remain open
Dat sweet second amendment... :D
The only thing better than having the second amendment is having a president who treasures it.
And active promotes it. I see a governor going against this and trump sending the states own guard under his orders to secure gunshops so they can open unmolested.
This is some shit.

If there was any reason to doubt, Trump has won the 2020 election with this.

CNN should be named nonessential
Clinton Nonessential Network. Done.
Communist Non-essential Network better represents their true mission now.
The Chinese Virus
It should be named an enemy of the State!
I can't find this news/announcement elsewhere

The DHS guidelines list as essential:
Workers supporting the manufacturing of safety equipment and uniforms for law enforcement, public safety personnel, and first responders.
Workers supporting the operation of firearm or ammunition product manufacturers, retailers, importers, distributors, and shooting ranges.
Also says this though:
"This list is advisory in nature. It is not, nor should it be considered, a federal directive or standard. Additionally, this advisory list is not intended to be the exclusive list of critical infrastructure sectors, workers, and functions that should continue during the COVID-19 response across all jurisdictions. Oh so, it isn’t binding, and liberal mayors can wipe their ass with it
Yeah
I want to have a protest, just to see if they will arrest, and then sure their asses for violating the first amendment

This. Unlike libtards, we like to know exactly wtf we're talking about. Especially on an issue this important.
The more of this I see the happier I get.

Back on Reddit, with the Reddit Enhancement Suite (RES), you could easily get both.
When you archive an article on archive.is, it captures the article and generates a "screenshot" of the first part of the article.
If you linked to the archive, RES would display the screenshot for you. No need to click through to the article unless you wanted to read all of it.

My local shop stayed open.
A big FU to Inslee.
What town? My wife wants a small carry piece
Won’t ask for the name, no need to draw attention
They were open and nearly empty.
So you’re not even gonna tell me what town
Laying the smackdown
The president should throw democrats in jail if they close down any gun shop. It's the 2nd Amendment ffs.
That would be a good way to nab them all at once.
The heads are exploding over in the politics sub. This is the kind of winning I never expected to see in these dark times.
Nice
nods head
Nice
Fucking (2nd) A!
<3 I LOVE TRUMP <3
It's true. The police won't protect you in a mass lawlessness event.
Guns are like vaccines. Those without guns should be thankful for herd immunity. People in anti-gun/vax states aren't as lucky.
DON'T TREAD ON ME!!!
Oh good. Now what about barbers for those who don’t want to look like fucking hippies.
buzz cuts for everyone!
The trick to cutting your own hair is to make it short and all one length. I have to do mine that way so all my motorcycle helmets fit.
God I love our president.
Hell yes!
Best part about this is all the first time of gun buyers who were against the 2nd will have a rude awakening. “What do you mean I have to wait 10 days!!!!” Bahahaha
My man!!
Heck yes. Was thinking about this earlier today.
They are essential. Protect yourself from looters.
