Girlfriend decided to send me a link about some tv master chef that died from coronavirus. I said yeah, it’s very sad when anyone dies from from Chinese virus (joke). She got all triggered. Said that was a “racist propaganda ‘joke’”. She is a Bernie bro. Which I get over. We can have political differences. But it’s clear she has TDS. We can’t have a real conversation. She can’t take the most mild of jokes. I told her a virus from China= Chinese virus. TRIGGERED! I’m not gonna tip toe around my jokes or pretend GEOTUS isn’t a legend. I can only think it’s time to dump her.
Edit: to be clear this was the final straw. This is after her attacking me for saying we should be hopeful about hydroxychloroquine. That it was wrong for trump to mention the drug on tv or tweet. And that people were all buying all of the hand sanitizer when trump was still calling the virus “a hoax”. And that I should “get educated” This was just the final thing. Not the only one.
I can relate, my woman is a well meaning liberal type. I say and do what I want, she doesn't have to like it. She is coming around though, hates the democrats. Her main reasons to not like Trump is environmental, and woman's issues. I'm pretty sure she won't vote in November.
I can hang with a different opinion. Its the ignorance it takes to hold some of those opinions I can't take. It bleeds over Into to much other shit
I think there is an enormous pressure to conform being generated and some people can't break free easily.
I changed my thinking and was socially punished, I lost most of my friends because of it. My woman and I had the same friends, I think it terrifies her so she stays in line.
