Its YOUR family that has the issue(s). Not those that properly spank their child. Just cause they're weirded out doesn't mean others are.

Of course others are. If you set up the rule that beating your child (I won't use your euphemism) is a valid practice, then you will have variance. Some low IQ moron who himself or herself was beaten, who then beats his child, will cause it to grow up deranged (and as such a vivid leftist voter btw).

It's the same with taxation. If you allow 1% income tax, you pave the way for 50% as well. If let hop over one Mexican over your borders and give him welfare money, why not millions? You establish a bad principle, a bad precedence.

Do you admit responsibility in your parenting if your child misbehaves? If yes, why don't you do the same to yourself that you do to your child? For example, why don't you beat yourself in addition to your child if it misbehaves? Take a leash and whip your back several times.

And what if you mess up, do you get beaten as well? Ah, it's a one way street, and the weaker one is the only subject to physical punishment... I wonder where this thinking pattern leads to in school... bullying maybe?
