There is also the advertising dollars they get which is probably being funded from the deep state. Prominent brands still advertise on CNN despite their putrid ratings. The advertising industry is full of leftists and the deep state can funnel money to CNN under the guise of commercial advertising.

Anonymous sources who know the Uncle of a man who is neighbors with a woman, who once spoke to a lady at a bar who is familiar with the President's mindset has alerted us that Donald Trump is actually 5"2" tall, is planning to expand Space Force to include the new Moon Force and Mars Force. Also our source said Trump will soon sign an executive order requiring all puppies be sealed up in cages, and kitties be set loose in New York City. More when we join the CNN team of mental walnuts who will explain why Trump is racist, sexist, and worships the dolphin God.

They are propagandists

More specifically, they are Democrat political activists. That’s what drives their propaganda and Fake News.

Gotta love the response tweet they put in the article. Lockhart postulates that people around him praising Trump to his face and laughing at him behind his back. So these people are lying backstabbers, yet it's Trump that's the liar.

"The press is a gang of cruel faggots. Journalism is not a profession or a trade. It is a cheap catch-all for fuckoffs and misfits—a false doorway to the backside of life, a filthy piss-ridden little hole nailed off by the building inspector, but just deep enough for a wino to curl up from the sidewalk and masturbate like a chimp in a zoo-cage.”

Say what you will about Hunter Thompson, very few books have made me laugh so hard my stomach hurt, as the Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas books. The movie was bullshit though.

And yes, he had a knack for honest, hard hitting descriptions that pulled no punches.

18
VoltronGreen1981 18 points ago +19 / -1

You have to be a journalist in the first place. They are just sock puppets.

2
NetscapeNavigator 2 points ago +2 / -0

It's become a bastardized title. They're journalists no more than than a shelf-stocker is a farmer.

I'm not even sure that analogy holds up because we actually need shelf-stockers.

13
CmonGubMintGibMe 13 points ago +13 / -0

That faggot Joe Lockhart in his response said this whole big response of what he thinks is happening.. then ends it with JUST A THEORY!!! THAT'S THE WHOLE FUCKING PROBLEM ASSHOLE!!! YOU DON'T KNOW, SO YOU ASSUME!!!

7
RighteousViolence1 7 points ago +7 / -0

It’s just like the shitty joke where you say you can do whatever you want as long as you finish with “jk.”

Calm down brah, I said it’s just a theory at the end of my 10k word hit piece on the prez.

7
27Sandino 7 points ago +7 / -0

Asking journalists to "fix" fake news is like asking the doj to investigate itself, we all know how that goes.

The first thing government officials should do is stop using Twitter.

4
TD_Covfefe_Crusader 4 points ago +4 / -0

Exactly. It’s like asking foxes to stop raiding the hen house. These are not journalists, they are Democrat activists, and Democrat activism is what they do.

7
SecularConserv 7 points ago +8 / -1

I haven't read the part about him picking a fight with Anonymous sources yet but they are foreign players

There word constant postings saying "I know someone high up in government...." followed by some fear-mongering constantly on Reddit and I believe there was a phone messaging campaign

6
takeyouruptrump 6 points ago +6 / -0

it's basically the journalism equivalent of "My uncle works at Nintendo..."

4
IvIA6A 4 points ago +4 / -0

Some kid told everyone in class his uncle was Mark Maguire, during the homerun year, and was going to buy him a Lamborghini. Thats what these anonymous sources amount to. No car, not even a signed baseball.

New Rule if you want to keep your United States of America, Broadcast License : Reporters and Editors aren't their own news sources.

We have gone from a golden era of independent investigative journalism... to reporters sitting in their offices making up the news, to fit their boss's politics... with echo chambers like Reddit.com as their only bellwether, "of doing the right thing."

Be better Journalists... be better.

It'll never happen unless we put in place some real, life-changing consequences.

2
MSG1000 2 points ago +2 / -0

Well when we de-legalize propaganda again we can sue their asses, as of right now most media is classified as entertainment.

2
Barbieblonde 2 points ago +2 / -0

Great point. Have an upvote Master Sergeant! (guessing at your username)

2
MSG1000 2 points ago +2 / -0

LOL, thanks but I haven’t had the honor of serving. Basically when I started making usernames I was young and all the examples I saw were like “Xx_Boobies_xX”, since I thought those were all stupid so for one of my usernames I just picked three random letters (forget the method atm) and three 1000 at the end. Of course later I realized that usernames could be clever but by then I was used to my names.

Well that and a lot of places weren’t setup to change usernames at the time.

1
Barbieblonde 1 point ago +1 / -0

Well, I'll still think of you as Master Sergeant... a lot better than Monosodium Glutemate!

Have a nice week! : )

2
MSG1000 2 points ago +2 / -0

Ha, you as well friend!

1
Tryhardneckbeard 1 point ago +1 / -0

And thats just it, there should be some way of forcing in their godamn logos or at the beginning of their shows that "We are not legally recognized as a news source, but are here only for your entertainment."

No Source? Right at the title you must say for entertainment only. Opinion Piece? Same shit... etc etc.

1
MSG1000 1 point ago +1 / -0

The way it’s worded, IIRC, it’s impossible for any news entity to not be considered entertainment. It’d be better to reverse whatever change Obama did IMO.

Liberal journalists are the problem.

1

Leftist* journalists. There's nothing classically liberal about these fear-mongerers.

1
MAGAlikethis 1 point ago +1 / -0

Classic liberalism is dead. The generation that still thinks it's alive is fooling themselves.

4
masshole3 4 points ago +4 / -0

I think we just need to strengthen the libel laws. Just make it incredibly expensive for these fake news motherfuckers to lie about us, whether we're famous or not. Trump campaigned on this back in 2016.

spez: And by "incredibly expensive" I also mean prison. If you publish a lie that can be disproven, you're going to jail. Tough shit. You're not going to hide behind your free speech any longer, bitches.

3
Freedombunker 3 points ago +3 / -0

The number one thing that pisses me off about them is the lack of context in any statistical reporting. If your kid shows you a test with their grade as 10, what does that mean? Is it 10 out of 10 or out of 100? For example, there scream “over 500” cases in Santa Clara county, but omit the fact that there are 2 million residents makes it 0.02% of the population. The chances of coming across anyone with the virus is minuscule. They don’t show that the negative testing rate is 90%, and that in the worst places in the US, the death rate is far below the flu at around 3%. Add that to the chance you’ll get it and the seriousness drops even below getting into a car accident. Context is king.

I think there are two sides to this.

  1. Anonymous sources can be a valuable tool to provide a hint or pointer to a potential story. All whistleblowers start out as anonymous sources, hoping that if they give just a breadcrumb to some media outlet, that will be enough to uncover a major scandal or story.

However...

  1. Anonymous sources shouldn't be the ONLY source for a story. Once you have the anonymous tip, a proper journalist should be able to find someone willing to go on the record. If they can't, or all they get is denial after denial despite talking to people who normally can't agree on the time of day, they story is over unless the anonymous source calls back or is willing to go on the record and file officially for whistleblower protection.

The solution here needs to put this all on the head of the editors. They must be informed of who these anonymous sources are so they can grade and evaluate the likelihood that they are lying or have a bone to pick. This decision shouldn't be left up to invididual reporters who are hungry for a scoop and willing to lie to their editor's face and claim "it's a good source, boss, honest Injun!" Make the editors accountable.

Should someone cry foul, take it before a judge. A judge can determine whether or not the source is valid without identifying the source. If the person claims to work for the administration, the judge can look at the name of the source and look at the roster and confirm that as true. If the person is lying, the newspaper must print a retraction and be publicly shamed for trusting them. Eventually, if a paper has to print retraction after retraction due to these anonymous sources then either a) the editors will start refusing to run the stories until their lazy employees pound some pavement and get a real source or b) the newspapers won't be seen as anything more than tabloid.

2
masshole3 2 points ago +2 / -0

Public shaming is one thing.

A looming prison sentence for a fucked up fake news story is something else.

You can't shame those who are shameless.

2
nowrongwrong 2 points ago +2 / -0

Freedom of the press is in the Constitution, there is no law we could pass against the lying press that would have any teeth. In the end, this is all a giant "he said, she said" which is what the courts have been dealing with since time began.

Right now the main problem is that we put too much trust in individual reporters. While that may have worked in the days of past, when journalists understood the public trust and the importance of letting facts stand for themselves, it is no longer the case. A reporter is generally a freelancer who will starve if they can't find anyone willing to buy their words, consequently they write whatever they think will sell, even if it is an outright lie.

1
masshole3 1 point ago +1 / -0

But isn't that why we have libel laws...??

They need to be enhanced. They need "teeth" (as you wrote).

2
nowrongwrong 2 points ago +2 / -0

Libel and slander laws both require an element of intent. You have to be able to prove they knew something was false and still published it anyway.

Unfortunately for the world, simply not doing any research or not exercising due diligence hasn't been considered mal intent. The times when you see people suing news organizations, i.e. Devin Nunez's suit against CNN is when they requested a comment, he gave an explicit denial with proof he was in a different state at the time so it couldn't be true, and then they went ahead and published the story anyway. But for most day to day shit like misquoting or partial quoting out of context or using bad sources, there's nothing legally wrong.

2
InstantCovfefe 2 points ago +2 / -0

'Sources, or it didn't happen', Trump should say when asked to respond. "You have no named sources? Not worth my time to respond!"

Most of the electorate would get behind Trump if he responded to anonymously sourced crap that way. Even my left-leaning acquaintances realize that 'anonymous sources' an more than simply unreliable; they are fake news more often than not. Either deliberate misinformation or third- and fourth-hand distortions of what someone said.

The FAKE NEWS MEDIA just love to instill fear into Americans. They are our true enemy. They tried to, along with deep state, to instill fear into us about 'Global Warming'. When that did not work, they have been trying to make Russia seem to be our enemy. But Russia is no longer a Communist nation and they no longer want to conquer the world. So, that is not working like they would like. And then along comes Trump, who wants to drain the swamp of the Globalist "Elite", and then they start demonizing him. But that has not worked like they wanted. Then along comes this virus from China, and the Globalist seize it as the perfect opportunity to implement their agenda of control. Control health care, control movement of people, crash the economy and thereby control it. It is all calculated and if you would like PROOF David Icke will give it to you at DavidIcke.com

John Jones just told me that CNN is fake news. See, we only use REAL sources. That's all fake news will do is just make up names.

1
tonightm97 1 point ago +1 / -0

The thing with the MSM in the past it was hurting our Democracy. Which in the long run would cost lives especially when a socialist enters the WH.

The problem with MSM atm is that they are influencing people that have thousands of people's lives in their hands. That in a matter of hours can cost many people's lives.

And the MSM is happy to continue to do what they are doing so they can use that against Trump.

That is the state of the media in America.

1
DivvyDivet 1 point ago +1 / -0

"Anonymous source" is the same as "the ghost that never lies" aka ridiculous bullshit. We all know these "sources" are just made up stories to attack GEOTUS. If they had real substance the source wouldn't be anonymous.

deleted 1 point ago +1 / -0
1
SimplePede 1 point ago +1 / -0

Fake news is fake news when there's no accountability. Fake news is fake news when there's no responsibility.

When the public sees that there's some compelling need for an anonymous source they'll buy it but not on EVERY accusation

astral 0 points ago +1 / -1

Lying with fake sources is covered under the first amendment.

To be honest, none of that matters, since the second you say you're not allowed to shout fire in a theater, the logical consequence is you're not allowed to ask certain questions because the answers would lead to violence (its a fallacy to say the slippery slope is a falacy outside of a mathematical proof, since in practice it's always true).

So I'm going to defend what's left of the tattered remains of the second amendment. There's so little you're allowed to say as it is legally, let alone in any public forum with mods.

Also, laws only apply to people on the right anyway, so keep that in mind. The left will continue to lie and the right will be sent to the gulags for telling the truth.
