Its just politics + media. Its not special. This is my 5th or 20th world ending event Ive lived through and Im not that old. Hysteria is a commodity that humans will buy like wheat or oil. The media is in a unique position to sell hysteria.
If the media lets this story die, they will have to go find a new one. Would a farmer abandon a field mid-harvest? Politicians sell solutions. They benefit much more from leaning into the hysteria than fighting it and possibly earning the medias wrath for killing the cash cow. This is like the beanie baby of news stories. It seems big now, but people will get bored and stop buying it.
I honestly believe it's an attempt to destroy capitalism.
For instance the ww3 scare was clearly a failed attempt to crash the US economy, then literally a few weeks later a "pandemic" originated in China, a communist country that was struggling economically because of Trumps tariffs and trade deals. China then sold masks, protective wear and test kits with an extremely high rate of failure to all of the first world countries.
The left-wing in every one of these first world countries pushed their governments hard to purchase massive amounts of these testing kits. Resulting in China making billions while ensuring they still spread the pandemic.
And look at what the left-wing's main line of attack is on Trump at the moment.
They're trying to ban an effective treatment for the coronavirus while claiming that Trump is a murderer because didn't buy copious amounts of the testing kits from China.
Good point. I think capitalism under the old guard will be destroyed by this. Australia is now under lock-down here as well. The deserted streets like Times Square (loved being there!) are now here too and are a global phenomenon. It seems there is more afoot. Any ideas?
