Not it wasn't. It was Biden advice, and just as tone deaf.

The OP asked for a good firearm for a BEGINNER, to use at a RANGE.

I'm presuming he means indoor range. I don't know of any indoor ranges that allow shotgun shot, only slugs. Slugs in a shotgun is expensive and NOT for a beginner.

People, don't get gun advice from TheDonald. At a minimum, go to a gun forum.

Many here, including myself had a pump shotgun as a first firearm. Many of us also belong to multiple gun forums and refuse to go to indoor ranges, for lots of reasons.

a) You don't learn anything about firearms by owning a shotgun, aside from, they go bang.

b) You don't learn to aim with a shotgun

c) Ammo is damn expensive for a shotgun

d) Your refusal to go to an indoor range has no bearing on the recipient going to an indoor range

e) Your comment about belonging to gun forums has no bearing on why I said don't get advice from T_D, go to a gun forum.

It wasn't good advice. Nobody in the industry would suggest a shotgun for a beginners' firearm.

Yes, you did. Thanks .mil for wasting time.

And if you need to aim one to use one, I don't want you using one near me.
