Long time lurker, first post, Michigan field report.
I lurked on T_D for years and loved the memes but I am starting to get angry about this Hydroxychloroquine thing. I am Michigander and seeing Gretchen Whitmer threaten doctors is pissing me off and has a lot of people around me starting to wake up about Trump. I have heard some real Trump haters I know praise his moves so I think the poll movement is real.
In my opinion, this is the first dispute that rises above a vanilla political spat. People are starting to see that the Dems and the MSM truly hate this country. I believed this to a degree for years but even I thought it was a 'difference of vision' or 'we have higher expectations' kinda thing. I voted for Trump but I wouldn't defend him calling Press "enemy of the people". I was wrong. The way that the MSM are campaigning against a cheap and effective drug is fucking Satanic. I still think there are some patriotic lefties but none work in MSM.
I am no longer maintaining appearances. I am on a campaign to educate every person I know. KAG
P.S. I think Trump will win Michigan again. The reason Whitmer won is because everyone HATED Snyder and for good reason. I am a union pipefitter and probably half of my local union brothers are vocal Trump supporters but I don't know a single one who voted for a R Gov candidate Bill Schuette (besides myself) after Flint Water Crisis or Right-to-Work. I am still pro-union but I am no shill. I swear to God I will never vote D after this.
Also, when I say good reason, I don't think Schutte deserved the blame but I think the state party was damaged in a PR sense.
Schuette REALLY pissed off a bunch of potheads with his interpretation of medical use. People that thought in good conscience that they were following the law had their lives ruined. After that, the state had a referendum that made recreational use legal. That's how out of touch Scheutte was to the wishes of the people.
