I don't like them. Occasionally you will get into one that is corn and alfalfa fed. They aren't bad. But must aren't the tastiest. I always give the meat away. All of it.
I was wondering why there was a feral hog problem when they're perfectly edible. Like why aren't there people making a living by driving around, shooting, butchering, and selling feral hogs? Seems like they would go extinct in no time.... I guess because they're not good eating.
Cool! I spent the afternoon cleaning up my springers and was just thinking about scopes. I need a cheap but decent 4x32 for the Diana 48, it's a tack driver and I need to get that .308 running this year. It's a tank, I've only run it with iron sights at 50 yards, I need to step it up. I've had my eye on that Trijicon for some time.
I was eyeballing it and a vortex, I can't remember which but it was about $800. This one went on sale and made my mind up for me. In retrospect it was the better buy. I have shot the vortex before but was going on blind Faith in trijicon when I bought this.
My good boi used to love sniffing and sometimes tried licking my shotgun and rifles. He loved all the guns. It was a bit psycho but he was a hunting dog.
Vizslas are some of the highest drive bird dogs one can find. They make Brittany and springer Spaniels look lazy. They are the dog that lent it's drive to German shorthairs.
Gunday should never go away. It is a reminder to folks that guns are important. Stop talking about them and people forget. Then they remember and start listening to Robert Francis.
Because he is a Vizsla, 5 months old and laying on the top of my sofa like a cat. He will grow out of it. But they are goofy, gangly, and awkward as pups. Probably the most pure athletes in the dog world after the mature a bit.
If you get one, make sure you get a few cases of energy drink with him. You will need it. Think 55lbs with Jack Russel terrier energy and endless drive. Really great dogs though.
You want real numbers? I know them. They come from Hornady.
6.8 remington spc vs 6.5 Grendel out of a 16 inch barrel with a 110 grain plastic tip projectile. 6.8 rem is faster. Barely. Not enough to mean anything.i would say that the two are identical. About 2500 fps and 1550 ft-lbs of energy. Cool right? The next paragraph is where the separation begins.
Those 6.8 Remington spc number are for a chamber than nobody makes. However all off the shelf 6.8 ammo is made for that chamber that nobody builds. The thing here is that the chamber has been redesigned for hand loaders. It is called 6.8 spc ii.
6.8 SPC ii on hand loads is putting up numbers in the realm of 2900 fps + or - a few, and 1700 ft lbs of energy with the same 110 grain plastic tip Hornady projectile mentioned in the previous comparison. So 6.8 SPC ii is quite a lot faster than 6.5 Grendel and 6.8 rem SPC. We aren't done yet.
There are now people hand loading subs (subsonic for the not autistic gun people). The best of those are 200 grain hpbt's, shot through a 12 inch barrel with a suppressor. They are clocking in at 1100 fps and 550 ft lbs @ 50 yards. Put short, it's a better subsonic cartridge than .300 black.
6.8 spc ii is faster than 6.5 and a heavier hitter subsonic than .300 blackout. Hands down it is the most versatile cartridge in the AR 15 platform. It beats the both, the ar15 long range "king" (6.5) and the subsonic (.300 black) at their own game.
I have to say it: the people who inadvertently post pictures of the inside of their homes on this forum, ALWAYS have the most put together places: clean, well kept, updated, and comfortable. There's a reason why normal people are normal.
I almost didn't post it because my wife puts too many pillows on the sofa. I hate all the pillows. It makes the living room feel cluttered and messy to me
Appreciate it. I wanted a softer shooter and some retro style on this one for some reason. The rifle buffer softens things up a lot. But I also wanted the bipod way out front. So I went with a spr mod 2 sort of thing. I am glad it works both in form and function.
What? No, that thing loads for shit. I bought one and literally gave it away while shooting off of it. Harris S-lock bipods are the standard by which all others are measured.
The only decent Magpul product is their mags. Their butt stocks are sloppy, their sights aren't much better.
Lol no. Never. It's extra shit I will literally never ever use. Buis became a thing when electronic optics were completely unreliable. If I have to put backups in a rifle because the optic is unreliable I'm not buying that optic.
As an aside, if there ever was a situation where I was worried and using a rifle to fight, this wouldn't be the one. It's an 18 inch barrel with a Harris bipod and A2 stock. Calling it anything other than a tank would be a lie. I have some shorties for that sort of thing. They use lpvos and or irons
The upper and lower are from a formerly veteran owned company that is now defunct. They were friends of mine from both my time in the service and as a kid. It was called Black Sheep 6 Tactical. They were out of Manhatten Kansas. Regrettably their product.never caught on in a saturated market. I do wish it had because this matched upper an lower set rivals Daniels defense, mega, and a slew of other top tier manufactures.
The BCG is from Young manufacturing. Again a mom and pop sort of place but their product is off the charts quality.
I am a small business advocate and given the choice to buy equal or better quality from a person instead of a corporation I will gladly pay a few dollars extra. Mom and pop put their name on the line every time they send a part out. They make sure it's right the first time.
Look into what the NRA does with your money (free hats, back packs, magazines, duffle bags and gun giveaways on top of massive salaries). Then look into what GOA does with it. I am also a fan of 2nd Amendment Foundation or SAF for short.
Nice AR-14.
You're full of shit
Do you need 100 rounds? You know, you know.. The Thing!? Lookin like a Yo-yo
DADDY LIKE
What kind of shots are you making with that bad boi?
Pigs out to 250 yards. And 3/4 moa groups at 300. After that I don't know because 300 is as far as I have run it.
Hey are those feral hogs good eating?
I don't like them. Occasionally you will get into one that is corn and alfalfa fed. They aren't bad. But must aren't the tastiest. I always give the meat away. All of it.

The people who do eradication make good money doing it. I know a lot of people who do eat it. But I'm not in the minority.
Honestly, it tastes like an animal that eats garage.
Nice, been thinking about that scope for my AR10.
If you can land it for under 600 it's a steal. I'd buy at 650 even
OpticsPlanet has them between $540 and $640 depending on crosshair.
I have the green mil-square. At 549 I'd buy it again

It was probably the Vortex Viper, never heard anyone say anything bad about Trijicon products, I love my ACOG.
I believe it is. And trij durability is what really won me over. That sale price got me over the edge though
No, he's only 5 months old so he sits all sorts of goofy at times.
Well get your shit together man. I don't know who makes a good 6.5 mag. Probably ASC, CPD or unimag
Nice pup🐶
Thank you. He is certainly growing on me.
Dog!
Somewhere, there's an ATF agent with a raging hardon for this photo...
Are they wanting a Ruby Ridge redux?
Where they murder innocent women and children and get away with it? Probably.
Just like Waco. I meant llmy Ruby Ridge redux in a "this gun would be perfect for them to slaughter a lot of innocent people with" sort of way.

Edit: who would down vote this and why?

Yes I am a nerd, big time.

We have the best people, don't we folks?
Don't start. I've been married 22 years. I can handle a few pillows if she can deal with guns all over the house.
Awesome.
Nice setup dude. I love the stock!

Get the magpul bipod for it.
What? No, that thing loads for shit. I bought one and literally gave it away while shooting off of it. Harris S-lock bipods are the standard by which all others are measured.

Nice rig. No backup iron sights?

Oh I’ve heard of young. Pretty neat story thanks for sharing
