I've a lot of doctors bitching about their working conditions. i don't have enough PPE, etc. No shit you are short on supplies. you didn't stock up and prepare for an emergency. everywhere is short on supplies because china confiscated everything meant for US shipment.

Some hospital systems are even seeking a universal DNR initiative for SARS-CoV-2 patients that allows them to DNR all patients without family consent and regardless of age. because they are afraid of catching the disease.

i get that the situation sucks, but these people have been on the gravy train for decades, profiting from our misfortune, and the second shit hits the fan and its time for them to sack up and show they deserve their elevated social stature and class the turn into whiny bitches

you don't see cops and firemen acting like this when shit hits the fan. they do their job...they go above and beyond...and then say i'm not hero...anyone would do this for people in need.

so suck it shitty doctors. you've had it too good for too long.

disclaimer...i don't think all doctors are like this.

It have not heard doctors "complaining". I have heard them bringing up obvious issues. If they all catch corona is the hospital going to shut down for 4 weeks while they are all out sick (2 weeks for being sick and 2 weeks quarantine afterwards)?

Trying to resuscitate someone is difficult and most of the time doesn't work, especially if they reason they died was respiratory failure because their lungs are full of fluid. If you think they had an abnormal heart rhythm, then sure, try to crank them up again. But if someone dies of respiratory failure over a couple days and are all ready on a vent, it's pretty futile to try to bring them back. Plus, for the 30 min a whole team is trying to resuscitate someone, they are not treating the other patients who are still alive. In really bad situations, sometimes you don't get to do what is "ideal" and you just have to do what you can. Doctors are generally strong people, but they have limits too on their physical and emotional health. Doing CPR is back breaking work. Doing it multiple times a day is unsustainable.

The quarantine time is a huge factor. I know a doctor who was quarantined for two weeks for travel within the United States. Everyone else has to work extra to cover for them while they're out.

exactly. And those doctors get stressed out, make mistakes, might rub their eye without thinking and then BOOM. All the docs are out sick.
