These are not apples to apples comparisons.

I missed no point.

We don’t let novel viruses rip through our populace and equate that to the dangers of all other categories of death combined. We aren’t saving the 2.8 million by being on lockdown. They will still die from all the shit that happens to people, but letting a highly contagious virus take its toll on the entire population in addition to that number is what we have prevented. Unmitigated, this would have killed .8% of a very high number of infected. That’s over a million people to one sickness in a 2 month period. Exactly what China was hoping for.

Because this is a bio weapon and there are people still trying to purposely spread it to prevent the recovery process. It’s too contagious compared to the flu to let it go unchecked and creep into the most dense areas.

The fuck are you talking about?

If we don’t close the country for 2,800,000 dead why the fuck are we closing the country for 2000 dead?

All big white letters doesn't make your point any less stupid.

Only one of the things on that list is contagious, and the Wuhan is much more contagious--and deadly--than that thing.

Also, hospitals in effected areas are filling up, taking resources away from all the other things on your list.

If you downvoted, please tell me which of my facts you disagreed with.

Ignore the downvotes. It's standard concern troll tactic. They want you to feel like you're being disowned by the tribe. it's why we don't have the downvote button on the main posts.

I am just saying they are using total dead as justification for the shutdown.

People have to realize thousands of people die EVERY SINGLE DAY in America, that will put everything in perspective

Even if Dr.Doom’s projection of 200k dead comes true (Which is not even remotely possible), it doesn’t justify the shutting down of the whole country

You realize that 200K is the worst case of the “best case” scenario, right? It could be from 100K to 200K with our current measures. Without our current measures it would be 1.7 to 2.2 million, a 10x increase.
