Sadly things will just go back to "normal" after this. Americans aren't giving up their cheap TVs.

Things aren't as cheap when it's made in the USA or other countries because management is too lazy to do the work to make the manufacturing process cheaper. When you outsource to China, you get the easy bonus with zero work.

I know this firsthand.

Fair trade, not free trade!

Many companies were already moving manufacturing out of China based on the trade war that was going on. Which makes you think why China wanted this virus to spread.

Yeah, moving to places like Vietnam and Bangladesh. Not really solving the problem. You need to stop outsourcing overall.

It's probably impossible to cut out everything made in China, but even cutting back will send a message. Don't repair your car with cheap (and probably defective) parts. Don't buy items with Amazon that have product descriptions written in Engrish. Buy tools and hardware for your next project that have an American flag on the label.

Reagan too. He's the one that kicked globalisation and profit before all else off. Plus the amnesty.

I fully agree, however an American flag doesn’t actually mean that it was made in America, just that it was at least assembled in America. It’s just a slick marketing trick to get people to buy their products. They buy all the parts from overseas for a cheap price then put it together here and call it American made.
