HMS: Royal Navy
HMCS: Canada
HMAS: Australia
HMNZS: NZ
HMJS: Jamaica
HMBS: Bahamas, Barbados
HMPNGS: Papua NewGuinea
etc..
The N is for Naval, not Navy. Not the same thing. They are normally crewed by Merchant Marine.
But again, that's being very pedantic, like the fact that a USMC officer is an American Naval Officer, but not an American Navy Officer.
