Some companies were already shifting production away from China because of the trade war between America and China.
It makes you think why countries were very very slow and blocking travel to and from that country.
If people weren't in general fucking retarded, this also would've been over in a month. Unfortunately, I know so many people who were posting about their spring break cruises and European vacations even while Europe was already becoming the epicenter of the virus and multiple quarantined cruise ships were shown to be floating petri dishes for spreading contagions.
The shear selfishness of masses of stupid people acting like this was NBD ended up spreading this globally far faster than it would have without their activities.
There's a community near me that was infected by a student studying abroad in Italy and recently repatriated to the US. Apparently no one thought to quarantine the student, so he's infected almost 2 dozen other people in the time since he got back.
