To work in US medical system you need a license which can only be obtained through completing a residency. Every single imported doctor would require several years to actually become a doctor instead of a resident.
Plus take away those resident slots from American students. Slots are very limited and highly sought after.

Plus, states are raising the requirements for people to get licensed as nurses, in most states you have to have a bachelors to become licensed as an RN (instead of an associates).

We would have more medical professionals if people weren't wasting their educations on Marxist "social justice" degrees and then complaining about how they can't afford to pay their debts.
We would have more doctors if the residency match system wasn't so completely retarded. There are over 1,000 medical students graduating each year with an MD degree that can't see patients because they have to do a residency in a hospital first, which is typically 3+ years of additional training, yet there aren't enough residencies to give out to everyone who graduated with a degree!
So...yeah...at least four years of school down the drain unless they try to match again year after year and get lucky and match. But during the years they don't match, they aren't receiving hands-on learning or being trained to be a physician and aren't using their education, so what they learned in school slowly goes away. Many don't match at all. Wasting nearly 500K on their educations.
Over the past five years over 5000 MDs didn't get trained. That's the issue.
It's almost as if encouraging women to go into engineering instead of medicine has created a shortage of ... medical personnel.
The nursing industry is always hiring and a good doctor will never be short of patients, so don't come crying to me because you can't find enough people who need their gender fluid topped off.
Look at this - the private sector, already powerful as fuck, is stepping in and producing the equipment this country needs. It's beautiful.

Uh, NO. I have a white male relative that applied to medical school. He had great grades, solid MCAT. Got rejected, got rejected, kept applying, more rejections...FINALLY got accepted. He's been a doctor for several years now. If we need more doctors, maybe stop treating white males like they are disposable and have no value. Maybe look at Americans and accept them into medical schools.
Maybe stop discouraging medical professionals with BS paperwork and malpractice lawsuits...

Medical professionals aren't trekking across hundreds of miles of wilderness to cross the border. Medical professionals are doing it the right way. Because they're smart: they're medical professionals

How about we unfuck our college/university system to make going to medical school and nursing school more affordable? We can even take it further down to elementary, junior high and high school and stop pushing bullshit leftist propaganda that brainwashes and gaslights our young ones into going to college for worthless degrees such as gender studies. We have the people here in America. We have to begin changing our priorities in order to become self-sufficient in many areas.
You gotta get them in trades in high school. Have the students assist the nurses in mundane tasks like phlebotomy.

Students with a sincere interest and aptitude should be allowed to begin 'majoring' in highs chool. For example, first aid classes could involve some fundamental nursing experience for capable and interested students. For students with an interest in mechanical things, plumbing, basic car stuff like changing tires or oil, how diesel fuel is different from regular, the basics of what an engine is... Make trade skills worth academic credit. Maybe help towards a license in certain fields.
There's all this "no child left behind" crap for bringing up our lowest but what are we doing to encourage and invest in our best and brightest instead of saying "Oh, they're smart, they'll figure it out"?
Gifted children get used to not having to try, to not getting rewarded for what they can do, and when they do finally come up against a challenge, it flattens them, they settle into an easy mediocrity, or worse, decline. And we don't recognize children with aptitudes in something besides sitting quietly and regirgitating facts as gifted. I suspect a lot of natural mechanics, plumbers, and electricians are missing their calling for it being something you need to pursue on your own time and dime.
Shit like this will lead to a brain drain of medical professionals from places like South Africa which is nationalizing their healthcare. It may be beneficial to the US, but it will further sink SA which just got junked by Moody's on Friday. My neurologist is Indian - he is fantastic! Don't know what I'd have done without him. Truly a brilliant man, and a calm, caring doctor.
My former GP was a nearly deaf Indian guy in his 60s. He all of a sudden died from a heart attack a couple years ago forcing me to find another doctor. This doctor was also a gastroenterologist, so he knew my body more than anyone if you know what I mean.

Nursing is considered "oversaturated" and yet I'm always hearing about nursing shortages and overworked nurses. Stop prioritizing foreigners and hire the Americans who are trying to get into these programs only to be turned away. We have enough Americans to do these jobs.
