Politically inclined people tend to go on and on about Orwell's "1984". I always found Franz Kafka's "The Castle" to be a far better warning of the excesses of government.

Summarize? Compare/contrast? With specific relevance to our immediate distress?

I prefer A Brave New World to 1984 to explain what's happening.

Why not both?

Have you read both? 1984 has it's place, in China, but here in the West, I would argue we're closer to Brave New World.
