the problem is the general public isn't trained and DOES not understand that wearing a mask is only 1 part of properly protecting yourself. You MUST not touch your face and must wash hands constantly (just like now). I don't recall the study, but I think it was in 2015??? showing MEDICAL STUDENTS wearing masks touched their faces 23 in 5 min or so? exact numbers I don't recall...but the jist of it is, you must know the proper sizing and fitting of a mask (hell, I was trained on it multiple times for different companies in the medical diagnostics sales field) AND, your must wear gloves to properly put on and adjust the mask AND you must not constantly adjust the mask---simply touching and adjusting the masks defeats the purpose.
I believe the CDC is pretty aware the general public are stupid--everybody will put on masks thinking they are just fine---and then wonder why people are still getting sick. It's a double edged sword...
