Yes... And how to balance a checkbook, change a tire, install a ceiling fan, how financing and loans work, cook meats, repair drywall, and a million other life lessons that are more useful than polynomials and Steinbeck.

Hold on, polynomials are pretty important to higher mathematics. We need more (real) scientists and engineers!
