If Trump plays his cards right, a cratering economy can be good for him. Being that Democrats will have a tough time--they're currently trying, but it'll be a tough sell--painting the economic downturn as Trump's fault when a global pandemic from China forces businesses to close for more than a month, and it's been mainly Democrat governors ordering these shutdowns, Trump can simply ask voters whether they'd rather have a man in charge at the end of this who presided over the greatest economic boom in nearly half a century and brought back hundreds of thousands of jobs that Democrats said were gone for good, or if they want to elect those same Democrats who told them to "learn to code" when their factories and mines were shut down and the labor exported overseas, and who want to raise their taxes to take even more from them.
“Ha! So much for Trump’s economy and low unemployment rate now!”

Nothing like the Green New Deal in the middle of a recession
Agree. I think most people would rather Trump lead us out of this and back to our booming economy than vote Democrat.
