What's really sad, and frankly, inexcusable. Is that probably 90% of America's media can't be trusted any more than the Chinese Communist Party's propaganda outlets. Tells you something doesn't it? When this virus crap is over or settled down we have a lot of changes that need to be made to our country, a lot of trash needs to be thrown out or burned.

I do believe Trump has emergency powers. He could do something about it. He could do arrests. And maybe, if a case can be made strong enough, he will, starting with the Nevada governor who needs to rot in a cell for trying to deny people treatments.

We need our own “Great Firewall.” Like, an actual wall of fire that sweeps across the entirety of mainland China and leaves everything extra crispy.

I didn;t even read the article in the post because of that. I saw they cite Pro Publica. It was invented to be the most Trump-hating alleged publication out there & So ro s backed for sure.. That is all.that is. The stuff they say comes out of thin air and worse.

I think what we all need to keep in sight is this may not have just happened to have emerged in China but may have come out of their lab in Wuhan.

Intentional or through negligence if that turns out to be the case, one that is comparably probable as it having happened by nature then that changes things.

China itself may or may not know if it escaped from a lab but it has to be aware at least of the high probability.

At this point the origin is now a very very sensitive topic. It's not something people want silence on purely because of political correctness.

It's origin might not only be China as a geographic region. Were talking a very plausible and likely case that the origin is China as a nation state and not merely as a territory.

For China from a political position making the origin a central issue is something they're going to quickly move away from as they're realising this coming out of the lab is not far fetched at all.

The origin or potential may definitely be relevant in how China shapes its own narrative and that may also impact to what extent the information it presents is reliable. At the least China is going to do one of two things about the origin, either shift the blame or shift attention from it.

I don't know if I can say personally if I could be bothered to consider which is the key point because both are pretty serious and interrelated. It is however definitely possible that the release of misleading information could cause or have caused even more damage perhaps qualitatively (incomparably) than the release from a lab of this particular virus.

Sequentially it's worse though yet the origin is going to be a very serious issue especially a this point because the first thought in everyone's mind is going to be damages. The origin (lab versus natural) is a very strong factor in culpability. We go from an act of god that could have been handled better to what is in effect one of the worst industrial accidents with global impact upon virtually every country in the world if not the worst in history.

It may also be related. Shoddy quality. Poor lab safety may have caused it to escape and poor quality epidemiology and of test kits may have thrown off the numbers.

China may also either inadvertently, deliberately or both released incorrect or misleading information to many possibly seriously damaging effects.

I think that it has spread so much does strongly put China under scrutiny for failing to have kept it contained. I believe there may also be further culpability. What if for example Iran figures it would be great for that to take off around the world so sends some people over. It would be so easy to get away with. Did China take measures to ensure that wouldn't happen? If you had coronavirus a month ago or so in Wuhan and talked to the right people which might be easier to find than you think you could have been worth a million bucks to fly over and fraternise with some people then fly back.

I don't trust China's numbers at all and that is a huge problem regardless of the truth because the problem is we don't know. On the one hand it can make it appear less contagious than it is, the other more deadly than it is and also less of a likelihood to spread as it did.

Presently, China's information is the key issue. Out of the lab or not we can't do anything about that at the moment. China was the first hit however and in knowing how to deal with it reliable data is precious. If their data hasn't been reliable and they're sitting on that then they're actively causing damage right now.

Is it just the flu, is it much worse, do we need to lock down, how long for, do we need to add a thousand beds, ten thousand, do we need a thousand ventilators, ten thousand, etc, answers to those questions in part heavily hinge on the veracity of Chinese numbers.

The damage caused by also shipping large numbers of defective tests adds to this immensely.

your completely correct.

people seem to think only unnatural diseases spread utilizing modern technology counts as a bioweapon.

they forget that the first bioweapon was smallpox infested blankets. and it was just as effective at what it did as modern methodologies would be.

dont even need bombs or labs, just some infected people and a seriously contagious disease.

even if i had no idea, if I was infected with a virus and sent me packing to another country i would in fact become the bioweapon. it wouldnt really matter if someone did it to me intentionally or it just was an accident. the part of knowingly sending me out, or putting the country in a position where many people would exit with said virus, would make me and all those others bioweapons -- possibly without any knowledge of this ourselves.

this directly proves -- act of god or not -- the actions the CCP took MADE it a bioweapon whether naturally occurring or not. even if accidental it became an act of war when they refused to tell the truth and shut down their own borders.

maybe the first few days were an accident but by a week or two into november they already knew how contagious and bad it was. after that point it went from accident to bioweapon.

4
sun_wolf 4 points ago +4 / -0

The “smallpox-infected blankets” narrative is a Marxist myth designed to paint America as a genocidal nation. Total nonsense. Those blankets were handed out over a hundred years before germs were even discovered. You cannot practice “germ warfare” when “germs” aren’t even a thing.

Chinese propaganda accounts spreading misinformation about the virus on Twitter: a-okay!

Conservative points out effectiveness of hydroxychloroquine cocktail in treating the virus: tweet removed and account suspended.

Are you seeing a pattern?

12
Staatssicherheit 12 points ago +13 / -1

I don't get it. Are people like Ingram making a big fuss about getting censored on twitter for reporting on hydroxychloroquine's effectiveness? I've seen reports of their twitter posts being deleted here but I haven't seen any clips from them going off on Twitter's censorship.

Chinese People refuse to go to movies if they have a single black person in them. Some cultures are just inferior to western civilization. Islam is one and China is another. We do not have to apologize for this. They should be begging for OUR respect, not the other way around.

6
Freedombunker 6 points ago +6 / -0

China is buying the world with the money we gave them. This has to stop - we need to pull all manufacturing from China. We have to stop buying anything from China.

I worked at a Chinese run company for a short while after I was laid off and before I went independent. Most were racist to non-Chinese and took great pains to try to rip everyone off, their own people included. They lied repeatedly about what they could do, and one of them told me once that you have to understand that they all now follow the "new Chinese religion" aka "Money"

This applies to Chinese born in mainland China. Chinese born here are different, but some still act like mainlanders. Bottom-line is that it's a low-trust society, and they will go to any lengths to win, lying, cheating, stealing.

We can't apply high-trust American values to a low-trust society, we will get screwed every time. We need to treat them at the same low-trust level they treat us.

I noticed something similar with a local Chinese restaurant owner. Super friendly on the surface, but over time he was constantly over-charging me in small ways, or little things like paying an $8 order with a twenty and he gives back $2 in change instead of $12. It happened enough times that I began to think these were not simple mistakes, but his own self-serving financial strategy. But he never let up the friendly veneer, and would always profusely apologize when caught, only to do it again next week. Meanwhile in western culture, if a cashier gives you too much change, most of us give it back so their count isn’t off at the end of their shift. We are just more compassionate, fair-minded people, with an abundance mentality. We don’t need to cheat some minimum wage clerk out of 75 cents just to get that little bit extra over on someone. If anything, we weight that 75 cents against our own sense of character and self-worth and deem it not worth it.

You can tell what news people listen to based on the “how long this will last”

Libs are always “this will last at least a few more months, maybe till the fall”

Conservatives are “let’s start getting back to work next month”

China is loosing the Propaganda war. Their pockets aren't deep enough and their talent pool isn't talented enough to compete with the simple basic plain truth.

4
Rojo4mac7 4 points ago +4 / -0

State run media is propaganda pure and simple.

4
tonightm97 4 points ago +5 / -1

The scary thing is they will get away with it. Then just do it again and again and again. They want their country to "look clean" while there is probably a lot of cases still being spread. So countries open up the borders so they can ship it out again.

1
NocturnalPatrol 1 point ago +2 / -1

The media are invincible. If Project Veritas can't take them down, nothing can.

3
MethodicalBastard 3 points ago +3 / -0

Since the propaganda is targeted at their own population it's likely to hide some embarrassing facts. For example what the real origin of the virus is. China officially says they don't know the origin, but, as Trump calmly said: "They know were it's coming from".
